Possibly the most cliched werewolf stereotype in existence. Questions, comments, concerns...

Is that what you're trying to suggest?

Concern: How do they expect people to go Werewolf hunting these days with the price of these bullets? .44 Magnum rounds are $65 each! It's absolutely outrageous. What I propose to be done is for someone to create werewolf shot for the 12 gauge shotguns. It should cost less due to the shot only having to be small balls of silver instead of a forged bullet.

MF: What I;m trying to do is control the world using a series of underground deals and illegal weapons...what I'll settle for is starting a conversation about sliver bullets and eventually werewolf cliches.
(that would be my sense of humor jk)

LOL very true, you can make the bullets yourself with a little effort from scrap silver your might have lying around.
Or you could get a blunderbuss and just fire cutlery at them.
Perhaps while making an amusing one-liner like "fork you, bitch".
Or maybe even cannon. Load one of them up with silver grapeshot and wipe out a whole pack in one shot. I demand to see this in a movie.

I have a 12 gauge shot gun- she is my baby: http://img172.imageshack.us/img172/930/rem870uk2.jpg, My partner and I used to shooting every weekend, but bullets are WICKED expensive save 9mm...
Personally the concept of some one having extra silver just laying around makes me cringe! Mostly because I think about how much you could sell that silver for...
for instance, here is a site that talks about Silver and its price as an investment. (http://www.silvermedicine.org/silver-value.html)
though over time it has gone down in value it is still worth quite a bit-
Also on the note of Home brew bullets. I would not trust anyone without proper training to make shells for my Mossburg. Mostly because the gun powder that is used can be 1. a safety risk due to improper pressurization in ones barrel, and 2. damage your fire arm...

proper training = buying a $10 reloading book and knowing not to exceed +p limitations. It's hardly something that requires much thought beyond that.

eww really!? that is horrible! Good to know though- most of the stuff I get is at the ammo store.

True, I've been making bullets for my grampa and dad since I was seven. I even came close to using all of the gunpowder in a bomb once.

I gots a 12 gauge that I used to shoot with my father, and I have a pretty thick cube of silver with some engravings on it, almost as if it were ancient. My Uncle gave it to me when I was 5 years old, although I really have no idea where it came from exactly, he is an Archeologist though. Probably very valuable although it just sits there on my dresser collecting dust.

I'll assist with the bullet-making process on the odd occasion, but I can hardly call myself any type of expert on the matter. I must say that actually melting the lead and setting it on fire is pretty cool, though. All the rest is so tedious.
Hey though, if silver is all it takes to kill a werewolf then, us band geeks are pretty well off. The brass instruments with silver plating should at least give us enough time to get away, since I doubt there's enough silver on them to actually harm any werewolf. Now I know that I can sneak my trumpet in and everyone will assume that it's for playing...nope, it's actually a somewhat-legit weapon against werewolves, woo!

The question remains, do you think silver is a legit way to kill a werewolf? As far as I know, decapitation and other greivous injuries would sure do something instead of give it a free hair-dying.
Other: Transfer from wounds in shifted form to regular form?

Thanks you, GB...
I believe that at the most, silver could and would only inhibit the regenerative process. However, being shot in the head will kill you no matter who you are. If you take a 12 guage to any hollywood monster's head, he WILL die! A werewolf without a head won't regenerate, same as with vampires.

Why does silver kill Werewolves?
How does silver kill Werewolves?
What else kills Werewolves?
I've explored those questions (or at least touched on them) at various points in my novels but at the end of the day, Werewolves are a thing of imagination. If your imagination takes you to a place where Werewolves are real and have to be killed, then I suggest that you understand what does kill them and imagine yourself armed to the teeth with everything that you can lay your hands on in order to kill them and protect yourself because if you're going into their world where their rules apply, you'd better be prepared to meet their maker... if not yours.
Have fun with it though - I did :)

Do you guys think adamantium claws could kill a werewolf or would wolverine need to silver-plate them to do any damage?

I seem to recall a comic where Werewolf by Night took out the Hulk. Also WWBN took out original, unmodified Sabretooth.
EDIT: Although yeah that doesn't really adress the adamantium issue.

I think that if sufficient damage was done, like decapitation or something similar or amputation of limbs, a werewolf would not be able to regerate the lost limb. It seems like lycanthropic regeration is more like the re-knitting of muscles. If the muscles aren't their to re-knit, then they can't regenerate.

What do you mean lizard?
Most likely referring to how some species of lizard can regenerate a tail that has been pulled off by a predator, while still allowing the lizard to escape alive.
