Well, today is my birthday, and this time last year it fell on Easter, which meant that I got a shit load of chocolate last year. The next time this will happen is in 2021. I'm very thankful that this only happens once in a while because my family can be forgetful of birthdays when it comes to holidays, and while I don't ask for gifts I do ask for acknowledgement (which I got this year but not last year).
How about everyone else, what is your experience with yours (or someone you may know) birthday landing on or close to a holiday.

Happy Birthday!
My birthday always tends to fall near Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which isn't a "real" holiday but always gave me a 3 day weekend from school for my celebrations, if not giving me my actual birthday off.
So for me, it's always been a good thing. :D

My birthday is Veteran's Day in the US. I've never had to go to school on it.
I wish I could say the same thing about work.
Oh, and happy birthday!

Happy birthday!
I haven't had really good experiences with my birthday, but it falls on the summer equinox, so that makes me feel special. :)
Hopefully, my upcoming birthday will be the best. But that is easy to take.
Oh, and I might as well add that my birthday occasionally lands on Father's day.

Pearl Harbor Day and I share my birthday with a family member so until I reached my golden birthday I pretty much defaulted to celebrating the way they wanted.
Pearl Harbor Day you don't get off and since 9/11 people have kind of forgot about it unless you're sporting high water pants and a set of prosthetic chompers.
Also I'm fairly close to christmas too so I've had a few people pull the "you can wait for your gift" and really I don't think I minded.

I have mine on the 24th of November, exactly one month before Christmas...I always view it as just the right day to have a birthday, not close enough to Christmas to decrease the presents ratio, but close enough to get stuff in a short period of time twice...

In 2010, Yom Kippur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yom_Kippur) fell on my Sept. 18th birthday.
Unfortunately for the holiday, it went unnoticed in my household and family.
My mother, on the other hand, was born on Dec. 27 and has fought her whole life to make sure people understand that getting her a birthday present does not mean her leaving a Christmas present under the tree.

Mine is always near Columbus Day, which is never really celebrated anyway. The only time I've ever seen it acknowledged was my time at the local community college, which has "Columbus" in the name. Not much worth writing home about, though.
