Since I was the winner of the first poetry contest, I thought it would be nice to be the one to make the next one! :)

So right now I've been reading a book where the female character is a water dragon. That being said, I couldn't get dragons off of my mind. So for this contest you must create a poem about one of the five dragon's posted below!



RULES:

1- All poems must be kept PG13.

2- Contest begins 7~13~09 and all entries must be posted by 7~25~09 by midnight EST.

3- Please post the photo of which dragon your poem is about. This will help those reading and voting to get a better visual. :)

4- All entries must have a title.

Forbidden Lore


Casting shadows into the forbidden moonlight,
A mystical being can be seen,
Its body gleams like a polished crystal,
With wings that bring forth power,
As the once calm air tingles with alchemy,
You feel a sense of wisdom that stretches far beyond the darkened seas,
For this creature cannot be restrained by time,
A serpent of sorcery, your enchanting scales call to me,
Beckoning me to obey your every command,
Your wings flutter and whisper me to come closer,
Falling prey to your staggering allure,
And as I look deep into your amethyst eyes,
My body pools at my feet,
For the light that shines within your eyes,
Has unlocked this Earthly cage, and sent my spirit soaring free.

Dragon La Lune

She watches,
From atop the peak on high,
The white sky light shines upon her,
Her power grows,

From atop her lofty perch,
Graceful wings held back,
Majestic sky beauty,
Her power grows,

Soon to the sky her wings will take her,
In her flight to guard to the night,
No master has this iconic symbol,
Her power grows,

Freedom brought by la lune's light.

All For a Smile


Massive beasts encircle in the infinite sky.
Their wings giving birth to fierce currents of wind.
But one creature among them remains concealed
from the eye.

The others of her species silently slashing for attention.
They use their grand gestures of skills
and marvelous displays of radiant beauty.

But not her.
Amidst the green life of nature she dwells
Like an inconspicuous shadow; blending in with the array of colors.

She waits........
She lingers.

By her breath of magic, she creates the final touches.
The blossoms stretch, spread their petals.
The individual puzzle pieces of the rose
embracing the rays of the sun.

She waits.....
She lingers.

For us.

To notice,
To appreciate her master piece,
To caress it,
Inhale it.

When at last, she captures our smile and the twinkle of the eye,
She departs; her mission complete...

For now.
