If this belongs with the computer jazz, that's fine, but I found it more of an amusing page then anything else.

6 New Personality Disorders Caused by the Internet (http://www.cracked.com/article_17522_6-new-personality-disorders-caused-by-internet.html)

I'm a total grammar nazi.

Why write or type it out if you can't do it right?

Haha, I know. I get really irked by the text-speak some people flaunt.

I'm also guilty of refreshing the page when I get excited for replies--on anything, really.

Oh, yes, me too.
If I get a lot of replies on forums like GaiaOnline it makes me happy. Especially when I used to LARP, I'd refresh every 5 minutes. I'd be all "They posttttt....NOW!" And then they wouldn't and I'd do it again. Serious, I can write two quality paragraphs in a RP in around 3-5 minutes.

That's why I love the "Who's Online" page here. XD It refreshes for me!

All these shiny new personality disorders and here I am stuck with something like Schizoid personality disorder.

I'm a little confused as to why the OCPD is on there.

OCPD types simply have an incredibly strict standard by which certain tasks be done, to the point that it literally can lead to violence otherwise.

It's not MY standard, and while I can be a grammar cop, I know when to give up and just let people dig their own respective educational graves. Know which battles you can win and which ones you have absolutely no chance at, and there might be a small chance you might win the war too instead of just being dragged down to their level.

I don't think I have any of those to a pathological point anyway...if anything I have "Oh look, a link! Where does it go and what quality of information regarding my interests can I read?"-osis. I think it's loosely called Internet ADD.

Time to trade it in, maaan.

Hehe. I'm pretty normal online, but offline I'm nuts. My counselor thinks I've got ASPD, so welcome to the crazy place, I hope we get some cool white jackets.

Either way, the internet SCREWED my attention span over *shakes fist*.

I'm nuts about internet stuff like grammar. It HAS to be perfect. Like on craiglist "Im a doctor and reel good w/pets" I'm like "NOOO! I DO NOT TRUST YOU FOR YOU ARE A MORON!"
I always wonder why some people TYPE IN ALL CAPS THE WHOLE TIME or Capitalize Every Word. Hurts just to type that.

I'm more of a grammar Nazi in real life than I am online. I don't have the energy to get riled up over every little grammatical/spelling error I see online because there are a lot. I cringe sometimes, but I don't usually say anything unless it's a complete raping of the English language.

But show me a real life sign that has your instead of you're, or an essay that has spelling errors, or a menu that has the dollar sign in the wrong place (7$), and I'll say something to whomever is around me. It's one thing to misspell a few things on the Internet, but in real life, you're actually putting that sign in your storefront, getting a grade for that essay, giving that menu to people who may or may not buy your food. I don't get that.

I've seen all of those disorders, which is part of what made it funny. :p I don't I currently have any of them though. I don't think... o.O

I can't stand textspeak. Nor can I stand American English when used by people whose nations use British English. And "it's" instead of "its", or "your" instead of "you're", and so on, make me see red.

So I suppose I'm an internet sociopath.
