Back, back in the day in 1890, when the land was still being filled in, a town called Border's Crossing was built, creating a homely western town. It's population filled with just about anyone, but mostly caucasions. Spaniards, English, Natives, and African Americans.

People took their day as they willed, planting crops, tending herds, tending shops. At the west end of town, there is a simple General Store, followed by a Feed Shop, then a Cloth Shop, a Black Smith's Shop, and then finally, the famed Crossing Saloon, where the locals and visiting people reside at for a shot of whiskey and a good song from the working girls.

Houses are scattered from being cluttered to being out in the country. The 'states' have not been named yet, but still known as Arizona, followed by being a half days ride from the Four Corners of Utah, New Mexico, and Colorado.

Unknowingly to the people of Border's, a band of Bandito's is riding in a day's time away, coming to corrupt the town, hopefully to take it over, and run it as their bandwagon.

Now, who's up to the challenge to run off the bandito's and take back the Sheriff office and their town?

--

There are no magical people, locals and passers always welcome. Guns are now the old kind, and swords, knives, whips, and anything else welcome.

Please enjoy!!

Name: Thomas McGuire

Gender: Male

Age: 20

Description: Thomas stands around 6' and weighs around 200 pounds. He has reddened skin from being outside too much along with bright blue eyes and short cropped messy hair. He tends to wear clothes befitting a smith. Though as always his choices differes depending on where he is.

If you were to see Thomas at the anvil pounding away at metal you'd know he was the owner with his short sleeved shirt, thick denim trousers, boots, leather gloves and apron. When he is out of the shop he is clean and wears clothes typical and a middle class young man plain brown button up shirt, thin leather trousers with belt and soft soled boots.

Personality: Thomas is a very calm individual. He rarely gets angry or looses his temper. He is kind and polite to everyone he meets, but has a low tolerance for disrespect especially of women.

He looks down on vagrants and drunk as they could do better but let the alcohol and pity control their lives. The few things that will make him loose his temper is the mistreating of another person or a vagrant or drunk trying to beg or trick money out of him.

Abilities: Thomas is big and strong, mostly in his upper body but focused in his shoulders, arms and back. He is quick for his size from training with two of his father's servants. Thomas knows some Karate, Aito-ryu Aiki-jujutsu and American Boxing. He follows their forms and techniques closely yet mixing the three together. He has been taught these three styles since a young age to help him learn to stay calm.

Thomas seems to stand stiff when he fights, yet moves like water when someone tries to hit or grab him. He tends to strike with an open hand instead of a fist.

Thomas is an execellent shot with a rifle and a super shot with a pistol. He may not be the fastest in the west but he is certainly the fastest in Border's Crossing.

Background: Thomas was the son of the town smith. His family has owned the smithy since his great grandfather and are quite wealthy as a result. Thomas' family has several servants, including a few from Asia. Thomas has been raised more in the Smithy than the house. He has grown up strong and tough, his father had two of his servants teach Thomas martial arts so he would not have his fathe's Irish temper. Thomas still has his temper but it is limited down to a few things.

------

Thomas carried the heavy wagon axle down the road to the wagon in front of the saloon and dropped sat in the wagon. The wagon creaked as the massive wagon axle rested on it. Thomas looked around wiping his hands on his apron then stepped inside the saloon. He found Farmer Bill easily,"Hey Bill, I put that axle back in your wagon, now are you sure you can get it back on?"

Farmer Bill's mouth dropped,"You carried it here by yourself, Tommy?"

Thomas smiled,"Yes Billy I carried it by myself, now can you put it back on your other wagon or not?"

Billy nodded,"Yea it won't be too much trouble. My boys are back at the farm they're strong enough to carry it and slip it in place while I make sure it catches right."

Thomas nodded,"Okay Billy if you need me you know where to go." With that Thomas walked out and back to the Smithy. Once he was back he grabbed his long smith's hammer and the tongs. Using the tongs he reached in the forge and pulled out a white hot piece of metal which he placed on the anvil. Sparks flew as Thomas's hammer struck time and again.

Ladorna looked around, an look of exhaustion marring her usually pretty features. She was bundled up in holed up deer skins and other types of clothing to keep warm in the harsh el inveirno. [Winter]

Flicking her long braid behind her, she squinted into the distance to see a road to a town. Sighing with relief, she walked on, hoping to find something so she could sit down and relax for a minute, scope the place out, get what she needed for free, and then leave.

As she walked up, she noted all the places and then saw the Saloon. Walking in, she sat down, ordered a pitcher of water and two shots of whiskey. Slamming them down, she then drank the water to quench her original thirst.

Noting the locals looking at her, she just nodded her head at them and finally stood up, leaving money for the bartender. Slipping outside, she quietly went searching through the horses' saddle packs, finding the hidden money and valuables. Sighing, she looked around.

"I need a horse," She whispered to herself before she saw a nice golden steed that would do her well. Looking around innocently, she walked around the side to the horse and patted him on the shoulder before climbing on. Turning him sharply, she hesitated as she heard the clang of the black smith working.

Shrugging, she kicked him into a gallop and rode out onto the street, hoping to get out of there as soon as possible

Thomas noticed the girl walked around the side but kept working. As soon as he saw the horse start out into the road he had placed the hammer and metal down, and was out in the road. He caught the reins of the horse with one hand and wrapped the other in the bundle of rags wrapped around the girl and snatched.....hard.

She didn't notice as the male came out, but she did notice as she fell off the horse as he snatched hard onto her clothing. She screached almost inaudibly under her breath, and was thankful the horse didn't spook.

Landing into the guy, but still falling to the ground, she hissed "Que te gusta?" Before quickly standing up, but found herself trapped between the guy and the horse. She reached for her knife, pulling it out and holding it awkwardly at him, her eyes shining.

"Enfermo." She spat.

Thomas laughed loudly as he pulled on the horses reins, making it step closer to both of them. In the next instant his right hand flashed out like lightening and gripped the smaller woman's hand,"How about we speak english little one?" He started backing up pulling them both. He tied the horse's reins around a post, then spun and let the momentum move the girl into the smithy. Then he stood there and looked at her,"Now, why were you trying to steal this horse?" He placed his right hand a hammer laying on a second anvil farther away from the forge.

After she spoke, all she knew was that she was thrown into the smithery. She glared at him, and moved away, pulling out her whip and hiding it in her hand under her clothing. She tilted her head at him.

"No ingles." She responded, feigning stupid. Casting a quickly glance around, she noted where everything was and started planning a way out.

"Wait, you mean this talk?" She spoke again.

Thomas smiled his finger's slowly gripping the long hammer,"Yes, now please be so kind as to tell me why you wanted to steal that horse." Thomas decided against the hammer and instead stepped forward letting his hands come to his sides but keeping himself loose just in case. He watched her eyes,"Don't even think about it. If you run this hammer right behind me will find its way between your shoulder's and hard enough to break something." His eyes narrowed as his patience began to wear thin,"Now tell me why you wanted the horse."

Ladorna just tilted her head at him and smiled softly. She darted her eyes around before she bounded up, launched off the wall and then grabbed a beam of the roof, hanging there for a moment, she swung then let go, flying over the guys head. She landed and rolled before she was back on her feet and running, heading towards another horse.

She didn't look back as she snatched another horse, vaulted up and spun, looking back at him. She tilted her head at him. "Que?" She asked before kicking the horse into gear.

Thomas spun as the girl hit the ground and rolled. He grabbed the hammer and drew back but let his arm fall as she turned to look at him. He smiled as the girl rode off, he sat down the hammer and walked over to the horse. He untied the reins and started to the other side where he could keep a better eye on it. He tied the reins around a post and went back to his work. Soon you could here the hammer ringing out once again as Thomas molded the metal.

Ladorna rode on, thinking about that guy and the town. She tilted her head as she came up to the Four Corners, halting the horse with a single press into the saddle. Looking around, she noted the people hanging about and got a bad feeling.

She slipped off the horse, patting his neck as she led him into the crowd of people. Stopping, she bought food and water for them both before settling at the edge of camp.

Time to go searching.

She struck through the backparts, searching through the unattended tents and houses, and finally came upon a tent that was large, telling of wealth. She looked at it closer and shook her head. Theifs, just like her.

Edging to the side, she sat down getting ready to see if she could get anything when she heard voices. Speaking her native language. What they spoke of chilled her to the bones.

"Ride out tonight." She caught the last part as they males inside started moving around. She gulped and stepped back into the shadows and then bolted towards her stolen horse.

Thomas had a chisel in his hand and a latern on, he was engraving a picture in the sheet of metal. Every soft tap deepened his scowl as he worked the chisel around the surface of the metal. He glanced up sweat dripping off his face, the sun was almost below the horizon. He shook his head and turned back to his work tapping the chisel a few times then repositioning it.

Her horse was tired, but oh so was she! She had the evidence she needed of the banditos wanting to take over the town she had just been at, just like they had been doing coming upwards from Mexico.

She skidded to a halt in front of the Saloon, and slipped off, stumbling from the harsh ride. She whispered sorry to the horse for not being able to walk him out.

She looked around, trying to locate the Sheriff's office, but failing as the light was dark.

Thomas' eyes drooped and the hammer slammed into the chisel hard. His eyes snapped open,"DAMNIT!!!" He threw the hammer which embedded itself in the wall, the chisel landed in the forge. Thomas sighed and almost lazily grabbed the tongs and retrieved the already glowing chisel and hammer from the wall. He sat both on the anvil and walked over the pegs on the wall. He removed his apron and gloves hanging them up. He walked out of the shop yawning and headed towards the saloon, a stout shot of whiskey would do him good.

name: Jane Winthroppe

gender: Female

age: 24

description: A tall, Native woman, standing about 5' 8", and with long glossy black hair that has never been cut, usually worn braided, and black eyes. She's a handsome enough woman, save for the large red scar on her right jaw, going down her neck, that she received from a hateful man when she was first engaged to her husband. While that large scar on her face is the only visible scar, under her clothes she has many cuts and bruises from encounters with angry men. She wears sober clothing, worn and stained from too many years of wear. She hardly smiles.

personality: Serious, mature. She's usually quiet, but that doesn't mean she's shy. She tries to stay out of trouble, but her temper can run high.

abilities: handles a gun fairly well, but is best with medicine and doctoring. Is strong enough to wrestle a grown man onto an examining table, but isn't a skilled fighter. She knows a few languages, from partially knowing it to being fluent, such as spanish, english, native (I don't know what specifically), and french.

history: She's a Native American. When she was 16, she married a white man named Timothy Winthroppe who was almost twice her age. He owned a small drug store (that they had kept on the lower level of their house) and was the town doctor, until he died last year from a chest cold. Since then, she's been using the knowledge she learned while married to him and has made a living going around giving house remedies to the people in town. She lives alone, despite people offering to take her in, despite the dangers of a woman living alone.

She isn't on good terms with the current doctor, and is trusted more than he is. Besides this, she usually gets into scuffles, and has a fierce temper when someone gets her going. She's usually on the losing end of every fight she gets into.

Jane walked calmly back through town from a house call, her tired hands holding her bag. She absentmindedly looked over at the saloon and saw the crowd. It felt tense. Her head told her to keep out of it, but she still found herself walking closer to the saloon windows... she was only a few houses away.

Then a man walked out of the store she just passed. He was one of the usual kind, the kind who hated independent women, especially women who weren't white. He spat on the ground just in front of Jane's foot, the black glob telling signs of chewing tobacco.

"Well well well, if it ain't th' medicine girl. Gawn t' work yer magic agin, or just cry that yer bed's empty?" he sneered. His insults were nastier than usual.

"Michael Burns, are you calling me a whore or a witch?" she asked in a quiet voice.

"Nah, just a dirty slut who can't fix nothin. Maybe I'll fix that stupid mouth o' yers with somethin'." Her face reddened and before she could stop herself, her hand slapped across his stupid face. It stung as she placed it on her chest. Michael looked at her, smiling, his cheek red. "You b*tch!" he said as his fist flew and hit her square on the jaw. The hit sent her into the street, landing wrongly on her ankle and twisting it. She cried out in pain as the now apparently drunk man walked over to her.

"D*mn ugly slut, y' best learn your place!" His foot came down on her hips, hitting a stab wound that had been having a hard time healing. The pain shot through her and she screamed.

The next swing caught Thomas in his bottom rib, then two to the face and he stumbled sideways. Next then Thomas remembered was getting hit in the back with something and hearing a gunshot.

Thomas opened his eyes and awoke to severe pain across his body. He looked turned his head and pain stabbed through his head and light flashed before his eyes as they watered. He noticed Ronnie Wilkins laying a few feet away his eyes glazed and blood covering the ground. It was fully dark out so at least an hour had passed and no one was around him. Thomas groaned as he stood, he checked himself no bullets holes and he still had his pistol. He shook his head and recieved another stab of pain and his eyes watered worse than the first time. Thomas struggled to a stand and mangaed to get through the door of the saloon before falling flat on his face.

Her head snapped up as Thomas stumbled in and fell just inside the door. She walked slowly over to him, and lifted his back to the wall before getting her shoulder under arm. "Up, you rickety chico." She whispered, gruting under his weight and starting to drag him over before two men came and helped her get him to a table into a chair.

Thomas slumped forward and grunted,"F*cking head hurts, get me some bourbon." Thomas set his head in his hands. Good job Thomas, you got beat and they are still here. Plus Jimmy is working for them, lucky your still alive or not in jail. Thomas could feel his anger turning to rage and bubbling just beneath the surface.

Ladorna placed the bourbon on the table before him and sat down. She took a shot of her whiskey before folding her hands in her lap. "I should look at your head if you will permit me." She tilted her head questioningly at him.

Thomas grabbed the bottle and took several large swallows before slamming the bottle on the table. He looked at the girl,"Who the hell are you?" Thomas vaguely remembered the girl's face but he had no idea who she was. Suddenly he remembered seeing that face as a girl fell from the back of a horse.

"I'm Ladorna, Lady for short." She winced as he slammed the bottle on the table. She stood, quickly backing up. "I'm sorry, I'll go." She grabbed her bottle of whiskey and slipped away quietly. Looking around, she watched as people carried a man's body awawy to put him into a casket.

Thomas watched as the girl slipped away. He shook his head and took several more swallows of the hard liqour. After about half an hour the bottle was gone and Thomas tried to stand.

He stumbled sideways into the bar, Missy appeared and grabbed his arm,"Tommy, come on honey. Let me take you into the back. I'll take real good care of you."

Thomas snatched his arm away from Missy and mumbled,"Get away from me. I got business to take care of." Thomas stumbled away and out of the saloon. He started down the road towards the Sheriff's.

"This is bad..." She watched as Thomas stumbled away. Getting up, she slipped her whip out from its hiding place and trotted outside. "Senor Thomas McGuire, I do not think that is a good idea in your state. Please, go home and you can fix this in the morning."

Reaching his side, she gently placed a hand on his arm, light enough to just barely feel. "Thomas, please think about this."

Ladorna growled and shook her head. She grabbed him and hauled him upwards and started towards his smithery shop. "You are going to fix the town. You are going there now, just lean on me.." She hoped the lie would work.

Her horse came trotting up, curiosity getting the better of him. She looked at the horse and then sighed and slung Thomas's other arm over his shoulder, walking silently back towards his shop.

The drunk above her was distracted one moment by a sound coming from the saloon. Jane took that moment and kicked high, her foot landing firmly up his crotch. His mouth formed an inaudible scream and his hands held his crushed nuts, which gave Jane time to kick his face as soon as he doubled over.

She quickly got up, not minding that she sprained her ankle, and hobbled away, steering towards the saloon, carrying her bag tightly in her hands. She crashed through the door and made it to a chair, not minding the other people around as she lifted her skirt, pulled down her sock, and looked at her swollen ankle. "Dammit..."

Thomas leaned on the girl and closed his eyes. He stumbled along his eyes closed mumbling,"Damn girl, tried to steal the horse. Had to pull her from the animal. She jumped over my head. Jimmy's working for the banditos, got beat up. I'm drunk, need to fix things." Thomas looked up and saw the smithy,"We ain't at the Sheriff's, it's the other way." With that Thomas slumped down, passed out.

Ladorna stomped her foot as he slumped, nearly falling under the extra weight. She and the horse reached the door and she pulled him off and drug him in from under his arm pits. Laying him on the ground, she went in search of a blanket and pillow to put him on.

Coming back, she put the pillow under his head and put the blanket over him. Sitting in a corner in the shadows, she leaned back, watching Thomas.

Soon she was asleep herself, thoughts and images swirling around her head.

Thomas awoke before the sun was shinning through the window. He groaned as he sat up and pain lanced through his head and up his side. Thomas forced himself to stand and walked to the bedroom. He lit a lantern and started getting read to shave.

He removed his shirt and mixed the lather then spread it on his face. He dipped his hands in the washbasin and reached for a towel, rapping his knuckles against the wall hard. He dried his hands and grabbing his razor started to shave in the dim latern light.

Ladorna whirled around as Thomas poked his head out of the door. She watched as blood dripped from his face. She tilted her head, not quite figuring out how that happened. She stepped into some better light, though, it didn't help much.

"Are you better today, Thomas?" She asked, smoothing down her clothes that were more rags in a nervous gesture.

Thomas turned back into the bedroom,"Yea, I'm better." He started back shaving taking his time and being careful not to cut himself.

Stepping in, she went to the barkeeper. "Anything I can do to help?" She asked, and was soon ushered towards a bucket and a scrub rag to help clean the floors.

Thomas finished shaving and dried his face. He walked out into the shop and pulled an apron on his bare chest, after hanging his pistol belt on a peg by the forge. He pulled on his gloves and set to work. Soon the ring of hammer on steel was sounding through the town as Thomas began pounding life into the metal.
