So does anyone else out there find themselves writing lyrics for what could be potential songs? Every now and again something comes to me more in a music mood than poetry.

So if you write lyrics, post them here to share with everyone!

I'll go first!

"Anyone"

If I awaken tonight.
Will I really be awake.
Stuck in constant replay.
No real reality, all a disguise.
Cutting through the layers of fog.
Every moment constantly reminding me.
Who am I tonight?
Who am I in the morning light?
What am I meant to become?
Or am I just like anyone.
Anyone...

So much chaos.
So much confusion.
Does it ever equal out.
Are we ever balanced enough?
What are we striving to reach.
So far away, but always in the middle.
Looking for a key.
One twist and we're unlocked.
Lost in this message born world.
No more will to seek out what's sought.

If I awaken tonight.
Will I ever see the stars.
Every star someone we knew.
Do they see us.
Do they know if we're real.
Or are we really their eyes in the sky?
Can I ever see anything past my mind.
Who Am I today?
Who am I in this pale light?
What am I meant to become?
Or am I just like anyone.
Anyone...

Throw me through the glass.
Let me bleed out my pain.
Let me feel what tonight can be.
Pain the fuel of life.
Can I save myself?
So much damn confusion.
What is it I'm meant to understand?
I don't know where to go.
Pull me back into my skin.
Make me into who I used to know.
Am I just too far gone.
Is their any life left in me?

If I awaken tonight.
Will I really be awake.
Stuck in constant replay.
No real reality, all a disguise.
Cutting through the layers of fog.
Every moment constantly reminding me.
Who am I tonight?
Who am I in the morning light?
What am I meant to become?
Or am I just like anyone.
Anyone...

So many people.
Still I hear the constant words replay.
Your nothing.
Your no one.
You'll never get it, you'll just never understand.
Your just like anyone.

Anyone.
Who are you?
Why does your name haunt me.
I'm not who you are.
This isn't who I am.
Anyone...
I'll break free from your label.
No more lies, no more you.
This is who I am.
This is me.

Who am I tonight?
Who am I in the morning light?
What am I meant to become?
Or am I just like anyone.
Anyone...
Who Am I today?
Who am I in this pale light?
What am I meant to become?
Or am I just like anyone.
Anyone...
Anyone.....

Great lyrics, GW! I think I posted this in my poem thread, but since it is a song....

Behind the Mask

Restraints grow weaker,
Losing self-control.
Infection and poison
Eating away my soul.
Corruption is commonplace,
Sweet candied lies.
Revealing the sickness,
The disease inside.

Behind the mask
Is a wicked thing,
Destructive, chaotic
Full of sin.
Behind the mask
Of false laughter and joy,
Is a hateful monster
Ready to destroy.

Shattered to pieces,
No sanity remains.
Vindictive, avenging,
All hope has been slain.
Rending, slashing
Breaking me apart.
A misguided bullet
Sent straight to my heart.

Behind the mask
Is a wicked thing,
Destructive, chaotic,
Full of suffering.
Behind the mask
Of false laughter and joy,
Is a hateful monster
Beginning to destroy.

No cure to be found,
Nothing can heal me
Nightmares consume
They’re all that I see.
Falling faster now,
I’m losing the fight.
You cannot deceive me,
I am master of the night.

I wrote this song awhile ago for Uno.

Waiting

Looking into your eyes,
Seeing behind the mask, to where the pain resides,
My heart longs to touch you there,
To hold you close, to show you I care,
My arms reach out to keep you safe,
Surrounded by walls I will patiently wait,

Chorus

I'm holding on until the day,
Those walls you hold fade away,
To you I'm tied, to you I'll be true,
Until that day I'll be waiting, waiting for you,

Holding you in my arms it doesn't get better then this,
Your lips whisper words as I lean in for a kiss,
Being so close to you I cannot help but feel,
The need to protect you, to banish your fear,
You have your reasons for your walls,
And I will wait for the day they crumble and fall,

(repeat chorus)

Here I stand against the wall,
Vowing to catch you if you should fall,
You hide behind a mask for the world to see,
Waiting for the day your spirit can fly free,
You will see that horizon my love and until you do,
I'll be waiting, waiting, for you.
