Just seen this movie tonight, and I must say, it was kind of creepy. It was a dual documentry/acting movie. They showed real video and audio that was recorded by Dr. Abigail Emily Tyler side by side with scenes dramatized by actors. The more graphic stuff was very scary for the simple fact that it is very difficult to believe.

I really liked it. It was very intriguing and did keep me on the edge of my seat even though I knew what was about to happen most of the time. It is a very graphic movie and shows some very horrible things that have happened in Nome Alaska. The real people doing these things.

Not that my recommendation means much, but I do recommend it. But you can't get me to Nome Alaska for any reason now. That movie has me scared of that place. I still like owls though.

I was quite interested in this movie from the commercials. At first, I thought to myself, "okay, a UFO/Abduction version of Paranormal Activity." but seeing how this is based on real events in Nome Alaska, versus the writer of PA writing and embellishing upon some "weird" things that went on in his apartment once he finally moved in completely.

The whole idea of abduction honestly scares me a bit more than most things that fall under "paranormal" things. I thought it was really clever how they tied in the way that owls look, and how we all believe that aliens look like.

I don't think it was their idea to tie the owl in. Each of the patients mentioned seeing an owl at night. It was one of those things that happened too often to be coincidental, thusly they pretty much needed to incooperate the owl. It makes me very glad that the closest owls to my area are at the Cincinnati Zoo locked firmly into the bird exibits. YAY to living in a city surrounded by other cities.

For the record, none of the "documentary" bits are real either. All the "news" stories that were circulating about Dr. Tyler was a viral marketing campaign by Universal. The movie is a completely fictional story.

Also, with a 16% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 34% on Metacritic, I'll pass.

I thought I'd inform you of a funny coincidence after we had spoken about the owls and how you didn't have any wild ones living near you. I stepped outside an hour ago to head to my local PetSmart and guess what I saw swooping over my head? A huge freaking owl.

Was there...probing involved in this obviously rare and supernatural encounter? :p

I have it in my Netflix queue, but I wont be seeing it in the theaters.

I think you get off on being a fun sucker don't you?

Well, I guess what I'm going to say isn't going to be really any better though. Regrettibly I agree with Vendetta. In fact, just try searching up Dr. Tyler. She isn't real. None of it really was real at all. They just wanted you to think it was so that they could get more money. That's all.

Although, I have to admit it was worth it. It was pretty cool believing at least at the moment of viewing it, that it was real. After watching it I was definitely freaked out and was worried that I was going to be abducted! :)

Just some food for thought. The owls they "saw" didn't actually exist. They were put into their minds by the abductors to keep the abductees from realizing that they were taken. If they could put a dream of an owl in their brains, what's to say they can't put an entirely different one in yours? Have you had any reoccuring dreams lately? :D

All-in-all I appreaciated the filmogrophy, but it's only a movie. Nothing more. Sorry guys!

No, I just dislike the fake/viral hype surrounding these supposedly "real" movies. Blair Witch had the exact same thing, and I disliked it then too. I can't even count the number of people who were convinced that the Blair Witch Project was actual found footage.
