For musicians, I would probably have to say that my top pick would be Mark Tremonti who is the guitarist for both Creed and Alter Bridge. I say Mark because he's one of those musicians that keeps getting better and better at his craft. Plus, I mean, he's one of the most influential guitarists of our time. Can you tell that I play guitar?
As for band, I really can't pick just one. It really depends on my mood.

Nada Surf has been my favorite band since I first heard them 4 years ago. Not enough people know of them IMO, with the exception of their 1996 hit "Popular". I'm not a big fan of their first album but there was a noticeable change in their style of music from their second album on. The music mellowed out and I've always felt that style suits them better.
Lyrics are an important part of why I like a band. Nada Surf has a lot of lyrics that have spoken to me and served as mottoes. The music I listen to heavily influences my mood (and vice versa) and I find that Nada Surf's music suits my mood 99% of the time. It's upbeat (especially their most recent album) and most of the songs are pretty calm.
As far as my favorite song, that's a really difficult question. I have a lot of favorites. I guess I have to put Always Love in there because it was the first song I ever heard by them.

Another one is See These Bones.

I could keep going but I'll try not to ramble on and on about this band like I do in real life... Yes, I'm obsessed. Anyway, I highly recommend them to everyone and if you're interested, they have a lot of songs uploaded on YouTube.

My favorite musician is Alice Cooper.
I personally can't pick a favorite song of his. I can relate to every one of his songs at some point of my life.

It' hard to pick just one muscian as my favorite since I have heard so many great musicians in my short time. But if I had to pick, right now I would have to go to classical and say Villvoldi. Ever since I first heard his composition of the Four Seasons I fell in love. While Spring is my favorite of his pieces, I have enjoyed listening to his music for many hours.

That was beautiful. I adore when guitarist/small modern bands take classical pieces to their instruments. It shows how truely talented they are.

Oh, as do I. In fact, many of my favorite guitarists have done this, or continue to do this. For example, the fellows in the video that I posted here are from the band Children of Bodom which is pretty metal as far as metal goes. The one of the left (our left) is Alexi Laiho and the other is Roope Latvala.
If you want more from other guitarists, please check out Yngwie Malmsteen's work with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra when they did pieces like "Ircarus Dream" and whatnot. Another guitarist that is a favorite of mine, Steve Vai, has done some work with orchestra's as well.
I don't know if you can tell, but lately, I've really been getting into neo-classical guitar work and even learning some myself.

Lady Gaga...Maybe I'm just that gay but she rules soo much! My favorite songs by her is probably Monster, Speechless, and Bad Romance....in that order. Kinda orgasmic :P
My favorite band is rightly so The Killers. They rule. And Brandon Flowers blows my mind a bit.
I love My Chemical Romance a whole lot too. Their second album is the best. I love To The End.
I also like La Roux, Florence and the Machine, Regina Spektor, and David Archuleta. :)

Asking me to pick a favorite band is like trying to pick out, in my entire lawn, which blade of grass is the best-quality.
Rather, I am a large fan of certain patches of grass: good progressive rock/metal is always welcome in my world. (Yes, I know...EVERYONE has heard of Dream Theater. Please branch out and learn about other good prog bands, especially those who have been around for much much longer, or those who use a different style. I'm so SICK of people saying "Oh, do you know DT then?" They're probably the one prog band I listen to the LEAST.) Electronic music, especially of the goa/psy or tribal varieties are good as well. Good ol' alternative, rock and metal, while not a major patch of grass, are still nice patches in which to sunbathe every so often. Classical occupies the nice, soft shade varieties in which I can sit and do homework without crisping in the sun, while Celtic/New Age music is also a comfortable patch. There is no crabgrass in my lawn, and as such there are no patches of rap/R&B or what generally passes as Top 40 or "Hot Adult Contemporary" (you know, the stuff you hear a million times a day at work from the same radio station).
But picking individual bands? Never going to happen.

Humm...Well prog metal cannot go wrong: Tool, Dream Theater, Symphony X
But Industrial Metal has a home in my heart, Ministry, Skrew, Rammstein. Nine Inch Nails(though I do not consider Trent Reznor's work to be Industrial Metal)
Rob Zombie is God, there's no denying it, anything Tom Morello touches is gold because I believe he's the most technically skilled(in terms of doing crazy shit with his guitar) with his guitar.
Stone sour, Korn, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold...all great bands.
I've been listening to a lot of chill-out music: Portishead, Blue Foundation, Halou, Akron/family, Lethian Dreams(well they're ambient doom actually)
God I listen to so much more. I literally get a band's entire discography and learn their names. If I like a band, I like a band. I really don't care for when people say they like something and have only heard one single that gets overplayed on the radio. I have about 120 gigs of music on my computer.

I would have to say that as far as favorites go, Emery would claim my favorite band slot. I don't really have a favorite song, but when i'm down popping the album "I'm only a man" into my dodge's cd changer and cruising is one of the few times i can really relax.
