I hear speculation that this was the nation sending word to Obama about his health care legislation since Brown ran on the promise to block health care legislation.

What's interesting about this is that a lot of MA Democrats went for Brown.
My feeling is that, as with Obama, a lot of voters chose Brown because they wanted a break from the previous seat-holder. I think in 2012, when Kennedy would have been up for reelection and Brown needs to run again, we'll more than likely vote another Democrat back in.
Brown was a way of keeping ourselves honest.
It may also have to do with a general dissatisfaction with what's happening in DC these days. Brown really doesn't mess with Obamacare passing as much as the Chicken Littles say -- the Democrats in Congress still have an 18-point lead -- but there is a psychological effect.
