It has come to my attention that free range users were unable to edit their profile privacy. I have just now enabled this option for our members.

What is profile privacy?

If you click on your User CP (at the top left corner of the link bar), you will see a link to "Profile Privacy". Here, you are able to edit your privacy settings for:

*contact info
*profile picture
*visitor messages
*albums
*about me
*friends
*recent visitors

The options include:

Everyone - All users (including non-registered guests) will be able to see this feature.
Registered members - All users (except guests) will be able to see this feature.
Your contacts - Only your contacts and friends will be able to see this feature.
Your friends - Only confirmed friends will be able to see this feature.

So...what's the difference between a friend and a contact?

A contact is a one-way friendship. This can be the result of a member not accepting the friend request, or a pending friend request.

A friend is a two-way friendship. This is when both parties have confirmed their friendship status.

I recommend people set their Contact Info to Registered Members or better (that is, not Everyone). That way spammers can't get anything you've put in there, including IM handles.
