Design a CD cover with an original band name and album title.

Rules and Suggestions

1) Keep it PG-13, obviously. Other than that the cover can have whatever you want on it.

2) Original artwork is preferred. No one's impressed if you steal someone's art.

3) The image should be a square, like an actual CD cover.

I will make a new thread for voting. I'm thinking the deadline for entries will be 12:00 pm EST on June 20, but this could change depending on how much interest there is.

The winner will get bragging rights.

I used a random wikipedia link for the band name, a random flickr photo for the album cover and the last four words of a random quotation for the album title. Compiled with MS Paint

Sure if you want. I actually didn't know it was on Facebook. >.> I got the idea from a link on buzzfeed.com.

Ok, like West's entry, this comes from somewhere else (in my case, it was a Facebook thing actually sent around by Tiamot). We had to get a random image off of Flickr and a couple of random quotes, and then assemble it.

Technically it's not true original art, but we had to come up with the composition.

By the way, for contest submission and such, I found it useful to create an album right here on the site, and upload the image there. Once you upload it, it provides the IMG BBCode path and tag for you to then just put it inline into your post. Works really well.

It's a good idea, but I'd like to keep it simple. If there were a lot more entries, I might do that, but with only 8 I think I'll stick with one category. :)

Just a reminder: the deadline for entries is Saturday at noon (EST).

It's a good idea, but I'd like to keep it simple. If there were a lot more entries, I might do that, but with only 8 I think I'll stick with one category. :)

We could always have honorable mentions!

PS, I think we could make this into a reoccurring game. You (or someone else, I suppose) could come up with a band name or album name so that we'd even have some sort of theme all the entries would work with.

I agree with this. What I ended up putting on paper wasn't the only idea I had. I need an excuse to do more of these :-P
