To answer Waelfwulf's question, fat, middle aged, bald men, with way to much time on their hands.
Well, just when I thought I had seen it all...I didn't. This almost tops people who have Star Wars weddings.

Hey just keep this outta LARP! You know, the silly thing is, I actually have a friend who would go nuts over that bikini. *shakes head* this may very well be a sad sad world.

 Seriously? I know several Star Wars freaks-erm, "fanatics" who went searching for pictures of Leia in that outfit "in the name of research".

Just because people enjoy the fashions of SW...(NOT MALES MIND YOU) but I've actually done costume research before for theater and we looked at possible "real" or "historical" clothing that may have inspired Leia's and Padme's Clothing and Hairstyle's. Our proffessor also had us reaserch of all things..."Hercules" the show but thank the Lady it was only to point out the screw-ups! LOL :D
So one dosen't have to be a freak to enjoy researching costumes. GRRR  :banghead: and it is frustrating that a lot of ppl hold that outdated idea to be true! ...*Ends rant with sad sigh*

Some 300-pound geeks dressed in Jedi robes would beg to differ. :D
Also, I don't see what's wrong with being interested in how to make costumes from your favourite films. Hell, there are far more sites dedicated to InuYasha cosplay than there are this sort of thing.

Vendetta I meant ( NOT MALES) as in: most guys who are SW Geeks no matter what they say drool over the exposed bodies of the female chars. I was defending those of us with genuine interest in the costumes...without the 'Sex-kitty' image dancing through our frontal lobe!
....Not all guys and it was a counterpoint to the dumb argument YOU recognized as dumb yourself!LOL

Well my latter comment was mainly to this thread in general. And I don't have a clue what you mean then by 'NOT ALL MALES'. I find the fashions of SW interesting regardless of the gender of the character (and in fact I'd say it's one of the few redeeming things of the newer flicks.)
Also, just as an interesting side note, when Star Wars: The Magic of the Myth was on exhibition near me I got a chance to check out Leia's slave "outfit" and the thing is made almost entirely out of latex foam rubber (and it's sadly very deteriated.)
