You don't realise how BAD it is!!! They have turned it into a bloody RINGTONE. It is a mania all across Britain. EVERY time I go on a bus there is always a group of kids who try and make EXACTLY the same sounds!!! And every other advert has CRAZY FUCKING FROG on it!!!!! I mean COME ON! It's got a penis for gods sake! It now has a censored sign on the adverts!

The Crazy Frog phase has even hit my local newspaper. There's an advert of the latest one about two times every spout of commercials.

Still it's amazingly popular. It went from the first one and a remix of it, then a "Mexican" one.

Then they made the Axel F. one which has not only been a ringtone but also a full music video and a Single that is available to buy on CD now.

The latest is the "DJ" one.

Personally, I prefer the birds. There was Tweety and his song "I may be small, I may be sweet, but baby I know how to move my feet!" plus a remix of it. Then the hilarious "Rock Chicks" with Tweety and Fluffy - which reminds me of my brother and his fiancée. The "Part Chicks" one is also nice.

I quite like the "Nessie the Dragon" one too.

No doubt about it: there's a buttload of funny and odd ringtones out there ranging from the birds and Crazy Frog to a Pig burping and farting and of course the monkeys' "Butt Rap" (the entire ringtone is of them farting).

Advert space on TV has been pretty much dominated by Ringtone commercials, most especially the Crazy Frog one mixed with an Axel F. soundtrack. I don't mind it though. The music of Axel F. is great and brings back memories of when I first heard it in the 90's (without the Frog of course). It also brings back memories for my mother; the start consists of the Frog making 'bing' noises in the fashion of an old 'music' that was played to a dance routine called "butterscotch" when my mom was a kid. Of course it wasn't a frog then, but still the pattern is the same just with a slightly higher tempo. Of course this isn't the first time, the original Crazy Frog sound was also remixed with old dance music.

So fair dues to it, I say. It has made a good use of old and older music and blended it with a popular Frog sprite. You never know - now that it has been released as a single you could end up hearing it in a nightclub - wouldn't be the first time the music to it was heard in a nightclub either.

It was a kid imitating his friend's motorbike and it got recorded onto the Internet. When ringtone clubs discovered that people preferred "funny" ringtones to just music all the time they had the idea. The sound is funny and "crazy" so they made the Crazy Frog graphic and it's popularity grew very, very, quickly. Things sort of went from there. :shrug:

There's nothing "genius" about it. It was just a company playing the market and using a funny sound file they found. It's a smart business move but doesn't take much to think it up. The kid (who's not really much of a kid anymore, the sound file is actually years old) didn't make any of the choices aside from saying "yes" to a company - not exactly brain surgery; if a high-income company is going to pay you a lot of money for some sound file you made years ago and had forgotten about you're not exactly going to turn it down are you?
