How many of you have them, if any?

For those that are unfamiliar this term, Rosalyn Green author of The Magic of ShapeShifting defines it as: 'part of a phantom animal body that all shifters carry around with them, roughly superimposed over their human body.' Obviously geared for Therians, however, still can be geared to Vamps, Elves and others.

A few weeks, months ago I felt like I had two tails. One wolf and the other I figured was a reptile of sorts, but much bigger, with wide scales and I saw it more strongly then the wolf one. It was quite long and whipped around similiar to a snake. I'd mostly feel this scaley tail when i was in a playfull mood or intimate with my fiancee. It's been a while and I haven't really felt either of them.

Now the fangs, they're persistant and felt at times for days, and felt more strongly at night. Recently, in past few weeks, months the fangs feel like they are bigger. Wider. They feel like the wide of two teeths, maybe little less the half a inch. More rare I feel small fangs, in my lower jaw but no where as persistant as the top ones. I don't really know why the fangs feel bigger or really for sure why they changed. *shrugs*

What about you guys??

My canines actually get sharper at times and my friends tell me they look longer. Made an ex ...never mind

In my experience, the phantom limbs are merely the result of mind-set...a complex, if you will. This is not a bad thing, mind you.

What I mean by this, is that the connection that one has to a particular animal may be so strong the the subconscious molds the "spirit body" into said animal. This can, and often results in, the feeling of phantom limbs.

As to the canines getting sharper, I would like to see this. The biochemistry involved would make for a very interesting study.

I get that sometimes when I'm meditating. I can feel paws where my hands should be, and a tail, and wolf ears on top of my head.

So here's a story:
I went to the park and climbed up into the forest to do some meditating. And I sat at the top of a hill, on a sort of promontory, and meditated. Before long, I could feel the paws, and I could feel a tail behind me.
So then some other people came up to the hill (for the view I guess). I could tell that they were trying not to disturb me, but one walked over to the very edge of the hill, and happened to put his foot right behind my back, where my tail was sitting. The result was this jarring, spastic sort of electric-shock sensation where the tail was. I made a face and said "AAArgh! My frickin TAIL!!" It didn't really hurt, as physical pain is per se, but it was a strange sort of shock.
It was really weird.

When I was soooo angry with a certain little mewling pseudo-human thingie, my teeth felt so sharp and I had these fantasies of biting and clamping down harder and harder and not letting go...
(and that was AGES before my big canine mood)

But that's not really phantom is it?

Well, often I feel like I have phantom fur. You know, like I'm cuddlable.

No, I don't really know for sure. I think it was the result of my sort of 'sensitized space' being breached. You've heard of auras, right? I don't believe in auras per se, but sometimes during meditation it seems as though I can feel or sense the air, magnetic fields, positions of nearby objects (or whatever it is) more sharply than normal. In the instance of an 'aura' this space would just be an ovoid shape. But because I do this therian sort of meditation, mine is sometimes werewolf shaped. And when it becomes so sensitized or built up or whatever, I can feel the ears and the tail. When the guy stepped on the tail, he ruined it all at once; which produced a jarring sort of sensation.

But on a less hypothetical note... now I know what it's like to have one's tail stepped on! I wouldn't recommend it.

i've actualy seen or at least tought i've seen my reflection change in the mirror. it was one of those metal glimpses so i'm not sure. i have had the fangs though, and claws. but the wierdest thing i have ever experienced is that every once in a while i feel like i am compleatly covered in fur. phantom fur sounds prety stupi so i'll call it a ether pelt.

I'm just really hairy anyway and at certain times my teeth feel really sharp, which is annoying at times cause I rub my tongue over them and it hurts :droolbloo
