Know of any particular fighting styles, not necessarily Kung-Fuish, busting cinder blocks with your nostrils kind of thing, that doesn't have much of a following? SHARE! Prepare to be enlightened, fools!

1: Savate. A French style of kick-boxing developed by French sailors, who were proficient fist fighters, that spent a good deal of time in Asia, namely, China. While there they got the chance to observe some Shaolin Kung-Fu and began to fuse the kicking techniques of kung-fu with the quick punches of western boxing thus creating a style of fighting which would dumbfound and dominate most other western fighters who relied almost exclusively on their fists. It also begain to work down certain street-fighting techniques to an art. Such as fighting with canes, clubs, knives and even things like bottles and chairs.

2: Capoeira. Created in Brazil by slaves it was a fusion of African and Native American fighting styles and dances. Using mostly kicks delivered during flips or handstands the movements were designed to look like a dance in order to allow the practitioners, or capoeiristas, to train in full view of their slave masters. Capoeristas often leads revolts against slavers either to escape themselves or rescue other slaves. An expert capoeirista could easily kill their opponent with a single, well placed kick to the head or neck.

I'd also say Muay-Thai but, since that movie Ong-Bak came out, alot more people know about it so... that's it for me. Join in the fray every-peoples! :D

Edit: And I know some Jujutsu.
(Also known as: jujitsu, ju jitsu, ju jutsu, or jiu jitsu)

It's not nearly as common as Kung-Fu or Karate or anything, so you might not know about it.

A method of self-defense without weapons that was developed in China and Japan; holds and blows are supplemented by clever use of the attacker's own weight and strength.

I can't really say that those forms of martial arts are in any way unknown, they are not as popular as karate, taekwondo and kung-fu but lots of people have heard of them, atleast here in Sweden.

For how long have you trained jujutsu west? I have trained the karate style kyokushin for about 8 years now, which is the toughest karate style there is, but I don't really have any time to train for the moment since school takes up to much of my time.

I personally ascribe to the little known welsh martial art Ecky Thump.

Seriously though jujitsu is almost as common in Australia as Karate. Mu-tie is getting big here too. But I'm not sure exactly how well known it is.

I've only done Karate and Judo myself. Judo is a common one but I haven't found many people that study it... I suppose a martial art that involves no hitting or kicking isn't destined to be popular.
