A Phantom shift is where you feel you have animal body parts though they're not really there and (hopefully) you know they aren't. The best examples of this would be haveing [insert theriotype here] ears or a tail.
I've never heard of a spiritual shift before.

Ok so it's akin to phantom limb syndrom except with limbs you've never had.
Xavious

Exactly. Though depending on several circumstances it is possible to move the body parts at will.

I believe in whatever. I will leave anything open. I have been a spiritual shifter for awhile now. And if that is as close as I can get than cool. I try to teach my self and concentrate enough to p-shift. My friend and I got close. Even recently, I have almost changed my hand, but couldn't complete it. Y'all may think I'm crazy, but okay. I'm cool with that too.

Then why is it called a shift? Shift implies a temporary change of state.
Surely it would be a spiritual transition. And if you feel that way all the time, what basis do you have for who it feels to be human?
Or do you mean it is mearly an extended mental shift, one lasting a significant period of time. Not actually different in concept, but different enough in expresion (based on the time frame) to warrent an additional title.

well your right it cant be called a shift. but with how i feel, i shift from feeling like a wolf to a human shift for short amounts of time. but i try not to becasue i dont like it. i have been this way for so long that it feels weired not to be. i guess you can say i have traped my self in a mental shift causing a spirual shift. i thnik that kind of explains it.

Hm? I can't say I noticed.
And if you feel that way all the time, what basis do you have for who it feels to be human? Perhaps a comparison of oneself to human behavior?
Also, I notice spiritual things seem to rely a lot on personal feelings of some kind. As in, you might "feel" that your spirit is other than human, without actually knowing how.

Man!! I would love that, :D if I was stuck. Being a wolf would be so much better for me. And if I needed to change back, I would wait till a less stressful situation.

I used to wear my old dog's collar. He was part wolf. He died so I would wear his collar to remember. My stupid brother lost it I think.

I'll just put down your thoughts to regional differences (read: wherever you are, it's too serious). Or maybe my humor developed a bit . . . off, in the company I keep. Either way, I don't think it was either of the things you seem to think it was.

And I'm sure that some person you know over the internet that's in your "pack" definitely has $400 or so bucks laying around to bail you out of jail... Or about $150 if she's going to purchase you from the pound. *Laughs*
I'm still rebelling. I put "Phisical Shitf."

Well exuse me Gilly, but she is not on this site or on the internet at all. Her mom wont let her on. I would hope she had a 150$ to bail me. That would be funny if she did. My best friend would own me. *More laughs*
Oh, and I marked "physical shift" too. :D

The phys-shift makes most sense to me I've had alot of time to break down the science and it all comes down to "stem cells". Private message me if anyone wants that lecture otherwise I won't bore any one else with it.

you know I never really got the term 'spiritual shift' ... Okay, so Therianthropy is mainly a spiritual and mental thing. Its apart of who you are and isnt going away, right? so why would your spirit change into something else? Of course I've heard of cameo shifts, but thats not really you.

Me neither, though I belive in Physical- Shifting mainly (being a physical shifter myself).
If people are going to reply to this because of what I said, DONT! I am not giving anything to those who ask of it. Though, PM me if you want to learn something.

A mental shift is one in which the individual becomes aware of a temporary change within their persona. Imagine a mood swing in which and individual may feel calm and relaxed one minute then a angry the next. This may be triggered by certain stimulae, perhaps something as silly as the door not closing properly at the first attempt. A mental shift is similar only the moods are different. Example: a cat theriotype might be happily sunbathing in the garden and suddenly a sparrow perches on the fence a few feet away. This stimulant may trigger a mental shift in the sense that the therian feels an overwhelming desire to stalk it. The calm relaxed human becomes very alert with a mood to hunt. Really its no different to any human reaction to stimula, but in the therian the reaction may often be described as being attributed to the theriotype ie humans generally don't stalk sparrows.
A spiritual shift is one that happens during meditation. Most people have heard of the dream shift in which the dreamer dreams they are an animal. With a spiritual shift something similar is going on. The individual relaxes the mind and creates a place inside their head and shifts into their theriotype. It's all about using your imagination. Inside your head you can be anything or anyone and do things you couldn't get away with in modern society. Anyone can spiritual shift if you set your mind to it. Lay back, imagine a place, put yourself in it, change into an animal and hay presto you have spiritually shifted. Now you can take yourself for a walk inside your head, visit a stream, climb a tree, jump off a multi-story building, or let your mind take you on its own journey. A whole scenery can throw itself in your mind without you thinking about it, scenerios invent themsleves. Unlike a dream you are a wake. You can open your eyes and go clean the car without going through the crap of 2 cigarettes and 3 strong coffees before you can even focus properly!

hahaha no way!
i've came across this some time before
it sounds promising at first glance, with all the text and stuff
but after the "blue print" part, furries in pink dinasaur costumes convinced me there were better things to do...
"Again, This not to say that you will grow fur and claws, but rather your body will use itself in a manner that you are not used to."

i've used my body in manners that i was not used to a many times before this

I will now give you a technique for transforming yourself into a werewolf.
Here's something everyone should know. You cannot "transform" yourself into a werewolf. Your either a werewolf or you're not. If anyone is looking to become a werewolf, don't look into anything with something that has "transforming yourself into a werewolf." Hell, don't even look into the internet either. COMPLETE CRAP

Nothing of any use, but it was an interesting read. I wouldn't trust anything you get from the Church of Satan, though. Anyone who knows anything about magic knows that LaVey was almost fully retarded or something. He summoned not one, but TWELVE high-ranking demons, at once.... and then failed to banish them. All of the texts that explain how to summon a demon are cryptic and hard to understand in all areas except about banishing. The only thing they actually come out and say as plain as the nose on your face is "Banish that mother fucker when you're done!" LaVey didn't banish them - he just moved away. He then had his pet lion possessed so it started maiming people, and he's a complete idiot with his shemhamforash thing. Go freaking learn Hebrew! She mhaforash has actual meaning. Shem ham forash, as he divides it, is random babble.
