How many people think Vampires fry in the sun or just are unable to use their superhuman powers.

Actually it's neither... depending on the Vampire's race the sun may influence its powers but never fry it á la Hollywood.

You say that like it's a real thing.

And actually in some myths - that predate Hollywood, TV etc - vampires would indeed burn in Sunlight. An early form of Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) probably attributed to this - it's a skin disease that causes people to burn in daylight. Back then somebody would see people who burn in daylight and live nocturnally as a result to be evil and associated with developing beliefs of nocturnal blood-drinking demons - they would be labelled vampires.

There are also other skin diseases that could be attributed to "vampires" in a similar fashion. Myths of vampires burning in daylight far precede hollywood and even predate Bram Stoker's birth so you can't blame it on him either.

So, as with any of these questions, the answer is: depends on what myths you go by. Some say vampires burn, some say they don't but have less power, other says the sun has no effect at all. So it just goes by whatever myth you think is best.

I think that they'd probably burn. But I'm basing my thoughts on myths and all that jazz.

Well, mythology calls them "creatures of the night" for a reason. If they're a nocturnal-like, the sun would sure affect them in some manner.

Yes, they are, in fact, skin diseases that make a person... "sensitive" to light. They are phsycological "vampyres", as they call themselves. ((OOC: Cheak post in "A Vampire?" for further details,)) They do not fry in the sun, of course. On a mythical acount, however, I do believe they would BURN in the sun.
