How many of you find that your mouth can make a marvelious third hand for holding something when your other hands are busy?
Im not saying this a therian only or even therian related, but just curious if therians were perhaps more inclined to use their mouth as a hand since in most animals it is about the only body part they have to grip with.

All the time. I always hold stuff I can't fit in my hands in my mouth. Or well, I hold it with my teeth.
Dunno if it has anything to do with therianthropy. It's a fun reflex though... and handy! :D

Ive been known to pack stuff in my mouth/teeth. even when my hands are empty. Just incase I need to use them. However, since I paint big semitrucks and have to mask them off. Holding the tape in my mouth causes problems. It doesnt wanna stick and I end up chewing the tape :/ thank god Im not the only one that does it at work. All of us are know for using masking tape as bubble gum :D

Well, he did explain it in the first post. He's curious if therians have a higher propensity of using their mouth in practical fashion.

But anyone who's ever been to the zoo and looked at monkeys knows that it's natural to use your mouth as another hand.
That's not therianthropy. That's being a primate.

You can't really classify any actions and habits as therian or non-therian, as when singled out, they mean nothing. Any single such thing you do, probably someone else does. That doesn't prove the habit isn't there because of your... condition.
I can't see the point. Why couldn't we discuss a way therianthropy MIGHT manifest? We could make a comparison by posting the same poll on a generic forum elsewhere and see if therians do this more often than than your average Joe.
Yes, it's an insignifact little thing, but why not?

First let me respond with a qoute from my first post
"Im not saying this a therian only or even therian related, but just curious if therians were perhaps more inclined to use their mouth as a hand since in most animals it is about the only body part they have to grip with."
Secondly let me say how ridicious I find it that a simple, fun thread cant go without gettin flamed.
Now on to the new arguement of it all (Yes, I realize that Im just adding fuel to the flame dispite my discust of it)
Uh, DUH! Show me an animal that doesnt use its mouth for something other than eatting or grooming.
Horses play and fiddle with things with their lips. So perhaps a horse therian would be more likely to fiddle with things with their mouth if they became bored. I chew on things when I get bored.
****please take note of the MORE LIKELY, hince I didnt calm it to be a therian trait.****
Ill actually carry things around in my mouth. Even if my hands are completely empty. I also have a bad problem with anything that can fit in my mouth and I can chew on I eventually want to swollow. Stupid sure. But you can not tell me it might not be therian related.
***Again, note the MIGHT***
IMHO its impossible to judge any act or habit as therian or non-therian. Its what is behind the act or habit and what drives it to happen.
Apparently my little attempt at a fun little meaningless post has failed and become flame grounds. Christ, I bet you people would flame a topic simply for the fact it had nothing worthy to flame.
I mean really what is the point. Do you people have so little going on in your lives that you sit around waiting for someone to make one misstep so you can pounce on them like a rabid dog? Sure. Perhaps Thrasher wasnt agressive or hurtful. Its not even the fact that I got flamed. But is this thread really hurting anything in this forum. Fine. Have it moved or removed. Then you can have your little victory, win the meaningless war and be proud in the sad fact that it made an impact on your day.

Where's the fire? All I did was ask why the hell this is in the Therianthropy section, especially since you yourself said that this isn't really therian related.

If I have my mp3 player on me, most of the time it's in my mouth because I'm fiddling with the crappy earphones, and then I leave it there.

I dont tend to put stuff in my mouth, mostly because im afraid of germs. I just dont like the idea that some virus in on the object and that it is now in my mouth. But sometimes I do put things in my mouth, mostly when im shifting. And StarHowler, calm down. I didn't even see anything that could cause the post unless your really sensitive. All it needed was a cool calm talk about two people's beleive. Thrasher only put up a statement that didn't need to be nuked by all the flame crap. Nothing agaisnt you, just be more thoughtful of your posts and know when you actualy have a "flamed debat".
