ok im reading this non-fiction book about werewolves and it says:

How to recognize a werewolf in a human form so take a look:

1) Bushy eyebrows that meet at a point in the middle of the forehead
2) The teeth may be slightly red, black
3) Fingernails are longer than usual and grow quicker
4The second and third fingers are Very very close to the same length
5) The skin is real pale
6) The person's eyes and mouth are dry, and he or she is ALWAYS thirsty
7) And last the body is usually covered with cuts and scratches (AKA ghost cuts if you don’t know what that is then ask me)

Ok now here's the thing I GOT #'s 1), 2), 3),5),6)(a little bit(always thirsty))and 7).
Now that's 6/7 EXPLAIN THAT!!

I was living in the real world and here's how I could tell who's a real werewolf:

1 They look human.
2 They look even more human when they're in human form.
3 When observed closely, they have appearances similar to adolescents.
4 When their mental patterns are observed, they tend toward the teenage soul-searching, I'll-believe-anything, angsty I-hate-humans point-of view.

THAT's how I know.

And truth is, I tested 4/4 at one point in my life.

EXLPAIN THAT!!!one!11

Also, while I don't moderate this part of the site, if everyone could hold back flaming and all that while we wait for a mod of this section to take care of this thread, it would be greatly appreciated.

ok im reading this non-fiction book
Just because it says "non-fiction" doesn't mean it's real. It just means that someone decided that this is how it should be classified, and often times that someone is a demi-tard.

1) Bushy eyebrows that meet at a point in the middle of the forehead
According to Mian Xiang it means this person is brave and dominant, but will ultimately be a failure in life. My book is also considered non-fiction, by the way. Anyway, this is an old bit of superstition in a time when people were frightened of everything and looking for an easy way to find a scape goat, and since extra hair can kinda sorta vaguely remind a someone paranoid and undeducated of a wolf - BOOM! Instant sign of a werewolf!

Congrats - you just perpetuated age old stupidity.

2) The teeth may be slightly red, black
That can mean the following:
* The protective layer on the tooth is gone
* There is a ruptured blood vessel in the tooth
* There is an infection in the tooth
* There is a major cavity in the tooth
* The tooth is dead, but the root is still anchored into the jaw.

3) Fingernails are longer than usual and grow quicker
Nails are longer than usual when you don't cut them. That's like saying "long hair" is a sign of being a werewolf. No, it's a sign that you don't get hair cuts often. How quickly a nail grows has to do with your metabolism.

Congrats again - you just just said that being young and healthy, albiet a tad lacking in hygene, is a sign of being a werewolf.

4The second and third fingers are Very very close to the same length
Actually that's just a random inhereted quirk. Just like green eyes. Oooh, scarey.

5) The skin is real pale
That's not being a werewolf. That's having a poor diet. Drink a decoction or a tincture of Yellow Dock.

6) The person's eyes and mouth are dry, and he or she is ALWAYS thirsty
Dry eyes can be a sign of deficiency in Vitamin A. Dry mouth tends to mean you are not drinking enough water. Constant thirst can be a sign of Hepatitis.

7) And last the body is usually covered with cuts and scratches
.......
Have you never heard of someone accident prone? Or just plain stupid for that matter?

Now that's 6/7 EXPLAIN THAT!!
Okay. You're an ugly accident-prone hepatitis-suffering idiot with poor hygene habits who doesn't drink enough water or eat enough carrots.

I'll add that many of those symptoms can also represent type 1 diabetes, particularly the constant thirstiness and weeping gums. (Which can leave a thin layer of blood on the tooth, making it appear red)

Although, if the author was researching werewolf mythology, they missed a few.

- Hair on the palms of the hands and souls of the feet. (Everyone knows this one)

- A 'dark mark'. Generally taken as a mark of the devil who granted the ability. Can also be the mark of the pack or a symbol of unclean blood. In reality, it was often a birthmark used as an excuse to torture someone.

- Frequently froths at the mouth. (Rabies anyone?)

- The little toe of each foot was a claw, not a nail. I've only seen this in a few legends, so I don't know how widespread it was. (Incidently, I have a 'claw' on my little toe. It's been like that ever since I ripped it out a few years ago. Tinea apparently does the same thing.)

That's all I can remember of the top of my head, I'm sure there were more 'signs'. Personally, I'll believe someone is a werewolf when I see decent video footage.

Thank you to ThrasherCub and Morgrim for saying everything I had to say.

Nick: It's a non-fiction book, but do you understand that mythology is classed as a non-fiction book? Any book or reference for mythology and the study thereof is classed as non-fiction. Fiction is a term for any story deliberately made up for the purpose of entertainment or for spreading lies. Mythology is non-fiction as it is comprised of beliefs that were believed, at one point, as strongly a devout Christian believes in Christianity. A mythology is so-called because it has been disproven or no-longer believed on a widespread scale. For example: what we now call Greek Mythology was once a set of polytheistic religious beliefs that governed philosophies, laws and lives. But they are now myths because they are not believed like that anymore. Go to Greece and you will no longer find mass-orgies of the Dionysus cult, people queueing for miles to pray and give offerings for love at an Aphrodite shrine, or people dancing and singing in forest butt naked to give thanks to the nymphs for making trees grow and bear fruit.

You're reading a book on werewolf mythology. If you failed to notice that then I am in serious pity for your lack of education.

Nick, werewolves are not real. You are not a werewolf. You are a human. Cope.

Everyone else does.
