Is anyone thinking of the scene in Clue where the butler casually mentions that everyone has just eaten monkey's brains for dindin?

It dawned on my one day that maybe cow tongue is NOT your typical meal when I took some leftovers into work one day. Everyone asked me what I was eating and when I nonchalantly said "Oh, it's cow tongue. Want to try some?" I got the "ew gross" looks. I'm used to the weird looks but this was like the "I'm-gonna-puke-on-myself" kind of look. However, I am partial to the meat...it is hoenstly one of the most tender, naturally sweet and salty meats on the cow.

I also enjoy liver on the occasion but for some reason it gives me a headache if I eat too much at one sitting. While in cat dissection lab one day doing the digestive system, I said "Damn, this liver is making me hungry" and everyone at my table gave me that look...I didn't know liver was so reviled amongst the younger generation.

I'd love to try Rocky Mtn Oysters some day, but I don't know where to buy them locally. There is a butcher's shop a few miles away that some friends and I are going to visit someday (and I'm going to cook them a cow tongue if the shop has them :D ).

And though eating penises sounds interesting (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own_corresp ondent/5371500.stm), I think that's one thing I'll leave to the Chinese.

Anyone else eaten anything "different" out there?

My mom told me that she has eaten rattle snake and squirrel before. (No, she is not a backwoods hick.) I thought that was pretty weird. Personally, I have never tried anything "weird," though I have been wanting to see what this chocolate covered ant buisness is all about. Sounds nutritious and delicious.

One word: Natto. Fermented soy beans that are really, really, really gross. I got extra credit in japanese class. It was bitter, slimy, sticky, ick.

Oooh...

Hamburger milkshake, peanut butter and jelly pancakes, and waffles, topped with Spagetti-O's...

By the way, these are ideas from my friend Lance so, I wouldn't eat any of them excluding the PB&J pancakes. ;)

I hate the "I don't like it" when it comes to food if the person hasn't tried it yet, so if it's not poisonous I'll eat it... So far I have eaten:

Chocolate covered crickets
Cow heart, tail, liver, brains and eyes.
Escamoles (It's a mexican dish consisting on the eggs of a particular ant)
And a lolly pop with a scorpion in it :D

I hate the "I don't like it" when it comes to food if the person hasn't tried it yet, so if it's not poisonous I completely agree. If it's not toxic, I'll try it. I think that people should remember one of the greatest books of our time: Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss!

I once prepared and consumed BBQ Watermelon on a dare.

It was oddly tastey.

Actually, I enjoy eating liver! My first time eating it was when me and my aunt were making Thanksgiving dinner. I told her I had always wanted to try it so she pulled it out of the turkey and put it in the oven. Very metallicy. Well, it should be considering that's were all your blood circulates through.

I also had bear cutlets one time. I didn't particularly like it but, interesting none the least.:D

Just a hunch, I would imagine that antelope and white-tail venison would taste pretty similar. I'd probably like the antelope since I adore venison but then again, I've been wrong before.

I honestly can't tell that much of a difference between bison and beef but I haven't done that many side-by-side comparison between the two.

I was raised by my backwater hick grandparents, so I've had, and really enjoy most things that you can hunt. Rabbit is delicious, as is sqwuirrel - both are best just fried. Dove is my favorite, that bird is very tender and has the most unique flavor. Venison of course is a staple. Its good, I can't complain. I don't, however, like pheasant or duck- way way way too disgustingly greasy no matter how healthy you try to cook them. Ground hog, if gotten while young, is actually allright. but if they're old then its tough as hell. The oddest thing I ate was actually demestocated rabbits that my grandparents raised to eat when I was younger. I remember wanting to ask where the bunnies went and then I saw the pot, ha good times :)
