Cake or Pie?

Yes, which is better. Cake, or Pie? For me it's the pie. It's just got better quality of... everything. Cake doesn't have crust but pie does. You need a crust in a desert. Course not all. But what do you think?

I actually like the meal more then the dessert afterwards... so I'll stick with the hidden choice of "healthy foods".

That's how we refer to pie in my house...we never say "pie:" we always have to go out to at least the 5th decimal place.

Cake is too sugary and light. Plus, it's too easy to make. Part of the fun is actually the experience of making pie dough from scratch, rolling it out, mixing up the innards and pouring them into the shell, rolling out the top layer, baking it all, then savoring the fruits of my labor...mmmmm-mmmmm. Great. Now I'm craving pie...DAMN YOU.

Depends on the pie and the cake. I like some cakes and I like some pies but there are some that I don't like.

Pie is definately better than cake. I mean, it's got filling. I realize that cake does too, but it's not what makes the cake. Filling in pie makes the pie, that's what a pie is. Also, you can make just about any kinda of pie, but not any kind of cake. I don't know about you but I've never heard of shepherd's cake.

I think I like pie better. There's that element of mystery involved if it's fresh baked. 'What's in it, beneath that delicate, flaky crust?'. Of course, I could go and sniff at it, but I feel it spoils the illusion :D

I must say I'm not overly fond of, and I use this phrase because my family seems amused by ut, fruity shit. I'm therefore kind of against most kinds of pie (though pican pie is like heaven, except that it goes well with coffee).
