Last night, I had the most frightening dream I have had in a while. It felt so real. It wasn't so bad at first, my mind was going over lycanthropy, the condition that woman had a little while back. Just random facts about it were racing through my mind.

Then I saw this child who had it. All of a sudden, the child became this menacing...I don't know what it was, but it was extremely frightening.

The dream immediately shifted to me, crouched on my driveway sometime in the evening, right before the sun went down. I presume I was changing. The pain was horrible. My whole body felt like it was burning, and my splitting skin was going to explode. I had my hands over my face, pressing as hard as I could on it. It felt like hate itself was in my body, and I felt so much rage and fear. I was groaning this low, disturbing sound. The pain became so bad, I began to yell. Then I sprung up out of bed, sweating. I couldn't get back to sleep for a while after that. Anyways, it bothered me so much, I thought I'd share it with you all. Anyone have anything similar?

My lupine dreams always tend to be everchanging. Sometimes dark, sometimes light. And each time, I know they bring a message to me. Usually, I believe, to guide me back to where I need to be in this life. The dream you had might have a message, or it might just you're experiencing the 'bestial' side of the wolf. Who knows?

I've often found that where rage, pain, and hatred inside the dream, often reflects on the conflict outside in real life.

Anyhow, that's just my take.

I had something to the effect but in my dreams it isnt painful-more like peace. Almost sexual the change comes over me slowly and yet I hear bone realligning and hair sprouting faintly. Yet I grow into a kind of man-wolf; some kind of humanoid thing and I am always fighting some dark ominous evil and I get a complete sense of unity.
The dreams usually end with myself and my beloved Desire making love in the woods as humanoid wolfs.

I've had some similar dreams. Both the pain and the discontinuity can be quite disturbing. I figure it's a way to better understand the self - a conflict between the animal and human parts of the subconcious expressed as pain. I find that it helps to allow the change to occur; if you try to force it or stop it, it only hurts more.
Anyway, good luck and good dreams.

I've had dreams very similiar to that. The scariest I ever had went like this.

I walked into my room stumbling (there was a lot of trash). It was night and my window was open. It was a half moon outside. Then I fell on my bed from pain. I was yelling and screaming and the people that lived near my house came to see what was wrong. By that time I was half wolf and still changing. The people saw me and left but they came back with guns. I was scared and jumped out the window and ran. I could hear the bullets going by me as I ran. I woke up when a bullet hit me. That wasn't the scary part though. When I woke up there was a very bad pain in my leg.
