Ok, heres the official Superbowl XLI thread.
The Superbowl is only the biggest sporting event in American history, but I will be lucky to get one or two posts in this thread.
Perhaps if the Superbowl was full of sex, 12 year olds claiming that they are werewolves and ridiculously left-wing politics, this thread would be booming!
Anyway,
The Indianapolis Colts (12-4 regular season record) take on the Chicago Bears (13-3) in Miami Florida at Dolphin's Stadium on Sunday.
I'm taking the Colts on this one, simply because Rex Grossman sucks. He is not ready for a Superbowl, and he was lucky as hell to have got past Seattle in the divisional playoffs. Rex Grossman, for the women who come across this thread, is the guy in orange who throws the brown thing.
Peyton Manning has been the league's best quarterback since he was drafted into the NFL. While Manning has choked in the playoffs for a thousand times, i'm sure he can keep himself composed better than Grossman.
This is a classic matchup of high-powered offense (Colts) vs a dominating defense (Bears).
This Superbowl is the first time in NFL history that an African American Head Coach has been in the Superbowl. Both Colts Head Coach Tony Dungy and Bears Head Coach Lovie Smith are African American. This has been a huge story with the media, but for good reason.
So, discuss the Superbowl here. I dont pay much attention to the Colts or Bears, but I am sure I can answer any questions that you guys have.
