It looks like a Runic symbol. I'll get back to ya by night. Hopefully alot sooner but I have to leave soon. I am pretty sure I have that in a book somewhere though. BBS

I know it looks like that and I know what the rune inside the circle means in the runic alphabet, but this symbol is from middle age and a woman, who was executed had a tatoo of this symbol on her shoulder...

Then what does it signify in the runic alphabet? That probably solves the mystery.

This reply is not in any way serious.

IT is a B with a circle around it. It means, "Be a circle."

Couldn't resist. :banghead: :buttrock: Break that wall.

I'm unsure what the circle represents but that symbol is actually inverted. If it were upright it would mean many good things but because it is upside down it means crisis, injustice, irrationality. Disruption, dislocation, demotion, delusion, and possibly a death. So maybe this person that Mir mentioned was going through a crisis or had a loved one die and the tattoo comemorated them? Well, I'll still search for the meaning of the circle cuz for all I know everything I just said may be wrong when a circle is added. But without circle it means what I just said as it is inverted.

Well I was thinking about the opposite meaning of this rune too. Maybe the circle means somtehing neverending, something that has no begining and no end, but I canīt see any conection between the meaning of the rune and the meaning of the circle...

Maybe the circle means all the bad things Goth Girl mentioned are never ending. If that it true, do you think it oculd've been some sort of curse?

It's a nordic rune.

RAIDHO
RAIDHO REVERSED indicates that now is a bad time for travelling, though you may need to. Someone may be visiting you during an inconvenient time. Or it might be a visit to an ill friend or relative. Delays, breakdowns, accidents and problems are likely during travel. If possible, postpone any journey you may have planned. There may be an upset of your plans. Any transactions or negotiations are not likely to turn out in your favor now. There may be trouble in your relationships. Try and be extra patient with people now. Look to surrounding runes to see where these delays may affect you.

The circle around it means nothing since it's meant to depict the rune drawn on something like a rock. Since Runes were traditionally inscribed on stones or pieces of wood the circle is simply the background and the way most runes are drawn in literature to indicate that they are not just drawn on paper but inscribed or carved onto something which can then be used in traditional methods to do a reading using various methods.

I know what RAIDHO means, but I donīt thing that in this case is the meaning of the rune the same as in the nordic mythology...and most of all am I puzzled about the circle and the fact, that the tatoo with this symbol had a woman that lived in middle age and was executed for beenig a witch....

Well how did you come across it being on a women from the middle ages? What was your source and what exactly happened? Why is it important?

You gave very little to work with, it is no wonder you remain confused.

Very few women were executed as being witches until the church gained a stronghold in england. Usually it had nothing to do with being a witch it was simply a political or financial reason.

Now unless you can provide more information I suspect that there is no other hidden meaning behind the symbol.

I didnīt say that the woman was from England....Actually I think she has something to do with slavic people. Iīve read it in a book called ,,Dejiny starých Slovanov" (in slovak language). It is not so important I was just trying to find out the meaning of that symbol and it was NOT because Iīd like it as a tatoo:D
