View Full Version : What do They Look Like?

Well, I was just wondering what werewolves look like. Or what they would look like if they existed, for all of you who don't believe in them.
I've seen them when they look nothing like a wolf in their wolf form (Harry Potter), and I when they look exactly like one (Blood and CHocolate). Like in Van Helsing their wolf-like but are bigger and stand on two legs. Or some people even say that they look like those anthropomorphic things, if that's what they're even called. So I guess I was just wondering what the comonly known/accepted idea of them is. Personally, I think that in their wolf form they would look like a regular wolf, but be a bit bigger.
Also, same question for vampires. There're less differences between vampires in books and movies than there are for werewolves/animals, but there are some differences. Like in New Moon and Twilight they have skin that's as hard as rock, smell good, and are really beautiful, while in Buffy the Vampire Slayer they are kind of ugly. In Underworld their teeth get all messed up when they're going to bite somebody, but in other things they are just pointy with extral long canine teeth. Also, in some things they have wings and/or they can fly, while in others they can't. In my opinion they're very nice looking, have normal skin (as in not like a rock) and age with lack of blood, but otherwise stay (in appearance) the same ages as when they were turned vampire.

I agree with you in both things. I would also like to add that some view werewolves (in wolf form) to be giant wolves about the size of horses. I personally find that ridiculous.

Yeah, I don't think that they'd be that big.

They'd either be VERY hairy humans, or Van Helsing-ish. I like the second one better.

I don't like the second one better cause in Helsing the movie they didn't look at all like wolves but like werebunnies.

i reckon vampires look like kinda shadowed really creepy like they do in the old books and stuff not like Dracula and werewolf well thats hard.....i think they maybe start like the Van Helsing Wolf and then maybe when it starts to consume them more (so to speak) they start to look more like a large quite angry wolf

For entertainment purposes:
werewolves - a larger than normal wolf but nothing extreme, or an anthropomorphic wolf, like the kind portrayed in The Howling, Van Helsing, Underworld etc. while transformed
vampires - perminantly pointy canines but otherwise human looking, or totally human looking with the ability to shift to having pointy canines, unusual eye color
for both any number of variations depending on the were/vamp individual and origin

Oh kay, I'm going to try and say this in simple long phrase-sentences things. For werewolfes: take a wolf, enlarge it to twice it's origonal size, shorten its snout & tail to half of their origonal size, give its hind legsa total of five toes and have then longer/thicker (for better balence when the creature stand up on its hind legs), lower it's thumb down a two centimeters and put a bone in their with an oposable joint, and finally slap a pretty boy mulet (not red neck style, just long flowing hair). That's your werewolf. Also, give the creature vocal cords that enable to speak at least half decent. Another thing is, IT DOESN'T TRANSFORM FROM HUMAN TO WEREWOLF AND BACK. That is what a werewolf would look like.
Now for the vampires: Take a human, give them bat like wings and a snout that merely de-defines their nose, make their teeth thinner yet longer, enlarge their ears and curve the back so they look pionty, make sure the person has a wide chest/torso, give them claws, and practically blind them with a lazer pointer so they somehow hit every obstical that they possibly can. Another thing, make it so that their stomachs digest blood the best and give them a low blood supply of their own. Also, make sure they're pale as a ghost so when they go out in the sun they get sunburn in ten seconds. There, happy? I answered your thread without going into extensive detail, just generalization (and yes, that is how general I can possibly get).

So the person above me, did you even think about what you wanted to say before you started to type? Werewolves(Loup Garou) are as of the same as true wolves. Long ago when man kind was at it's weakest in every country, some of the elders(not the really old people but the adults) would pray that there would be a way for them to find food. The animals were to fast and smart for the villagers to hunt. The Moon Goddess answered their prayers by granting them the gift to change into a creature of the night....a wolf. With this gift came rules. They were allowed to hunt freely as long as it met their needs for survival not greed and they were never allowed to taste the blood of humans. So why would there ever be an idea of Loup Garou being gnareled creatures....Holly Wood. Holly Wood created these beast to scare people, when infact these "beasts" were beautiful creatures of the dark.
As for Vampires, Buffy can shove it. Vampires are not dead but are not alive....not like zombies cause zombies are totally virus related. Vampires have a lack of blood.....barely enough to keep them alive. They don't have wings and they can't fly. They look, and act like very lively humans. They live their lives as they always have. Garlic sunlight crosses....nothing. The way a vampire shall die is for anything to penatrate through the chest....prefurably the heart. They feed on blood for the soul perouse to survive. Take the blood away....they die....only not the same as penatration. They die as humans do with no food. Get skinny...then stomach expands...then death. They age....just not as fast as humans. For every 10 human years, is about 5 vampire years. Take a 60 year old human....typically gray hair, wrinkly....old. Vampire....would look about 30. Get it....?

when infact these "beasts" were beautiful creatures of the dark."Infact" implies you have factual evidence supporting their existence. Do you? Doubtful. If not please do not "correct" somebody's opinion on a myth that has varying interpretations as though you knew it to be fact. Until such a time where evidence of its factual nature can be provided please do not chide somebody for expressing an opinion.
Vampires are not dead but are not aliveThe myths vary. In some cases they are alive, in others they are dead, and in many they are "undead" or stuck between life and death.
not like zombies cause zombies are totally virus relatedNot "totally" as the myths vary. The primary cause of reanimation of the dead in myth would be curses and spells - magics not viruses. There are more myths concerning Zombies as magical reanimations than there are of those describing them as products of a virus.
Vampires have a lack of blood.....barely enough to keep them aliveIn many cases of myths yes. Not all, however. In some myths a vampire never has blood and some always have blood. Some are not sanguinarian vampires but are vampires of psychic energy or, notably in China, of chi.
They don't have wingsIn some myths, they do.
they can't flyIn some myths they can.
They look, and act like very lively humans. In many myths yes but not in all.
They live their lives as they always have. With the exception of those that change their lifestyle constantly this would apply to every living thing in existence. Kind of a redundant phrase, eh?
Garlic sunlight crosses....nothing.I n some myths these do have affects on vampires. On some they have no effect. It depends on the myth.
The way a vampire shall die is for anything to penatrate through the chest....prefurably the heart. In a large majority of myths this will usually just piss it off not kill it. In some myths such impalement, sometimes limited to wood or silver, will pin a vampire not necessarily kill it. In some myths the only way to kill a vampire would be to impale it through the heart, behead it, then burn it and seperate the ashes. Again, it is very dependent on the myth.
They feed on blood for the soul perouse to survive. Take the blood away....they die....only not the same as penatration. They die as humans do with no food. Get skinny...then stomach expands...then death.I believe you mean "sole purpose" but anyway, in some myths true in others false. It depends on the myth.
They age....just not as fast as humans.Very few vampires in myth are susceptible to age. Some are and use blood or other food source as a means of rejuvenating themselves and reversing age-related effects. Most, however, are immortal - they are ageless.
For every 10 human years, is about 5 vampire years. Take a 60 year old human....typically gray hair, wrinkly....old. Vampire....would look about 30. Get it....?While accepting such a myth could be possible I have to say that sounds like bullshit to me.

Hade Keikoku, have you ever bothered to do research on vampires? You should try it sometime. You describe a vampire as though it is some proven fact - it is not. Vampires are a myth and a very varied and diverse creature of myth at that. I'm been looking up and learning about vampires since before you stopped shitting in diapers and I can say with quite certainty: you're pulling things out of your ass.
Do some research then retry and please present it as your opinion not some fact - unless you can prove it is such a fact.

With the werewolf....read into history and look at art work....all the things I've read and seen were never of scary beast until movies created the image of a monster. True there are stories of monster werewolves, but not like Holly Wood. And as for Vampires, what I said I will stick to forever. I have heard of all of what I said including the age thing...I can't remember the book, but once I find it again I will let you know.

Werewolves- large, bear like, only with more narrow head and facial features. Or they could be anthropomorphic, as suggested earlier, but I imagine them as having crowched posture, incredibly large hands, with less hair than the rest of the body, and possibly a dark hairless chest like that of a gorrilla. Also, I consider them to be of more moderate size than usual, in the later description.
Vampires- grey-skinned, zombie like, bright red eyes, and long claws. pointed canines, of course.

First, my username is BlackRosePhantom. You could abbreviate it to BRP, blackrose, just phantom, etc. Now to answer your question. YES, of coursed I thought about this for a long time. It was an old hobby of mine to use logic to make myth realistic, mainly focused on the anatomy and said abilities/necessities of the creature. I've done werewolves, vampires, dragons (there are actually many ways in which it could have breathed fire without magic), etc. See, when I look at anything, I try to decipher it using logic, which does work. No magic/supernatural required. Of course, if werewolves could exist, why don't they? Because their design was completely unnecessary, and humans and wolves are two completely different branches of the mammal evolution tree.

I think that if there were werewolves (I dont know if they exist or not) then they would probably stand on two legs and have a wolflike head instead of just having a hairy face.

I still think that werewolves would be of regular wolves. For all we know, there could be werewolves running around as we speak. But we don't know, so we assume that they are myths. It's just like God. We can't prove that He is real, but some people believe He is.

Can we ever just talk about them for recreation without having to argue about whether or not they exist? Furthermore, why would anyone who doesn't believe in werewolves, or even like them, decide to join a discussion board called 'werewolf.com'?

join a discussion board called 'werewolf.com'Becaus e they knew it wasn't a site about werewolves and is named as such due to the owner's liking of WhiteWolf: The Apocalypse?
When are people going to realise the domain name of a site means nothing to its content and is not required to? >_<

People are going to realize that name doesn't reflect the contents of a website after they join/view the website.

I've heard things about a connection to whitewolf but haven't gotten any explanations that go that far. 'Still doesn't really change the name and what it suggests, anyway.
