If a werewolf had silver in their bloodstream, what can make them better? I remember it telling us in the movie Blood And Chocolate but i can't remember what it's called.

Well, before the invention of antibiotics silver and silver compounds were used to treat disease, infections, etc. Hippocrates even wrote it had beneficial medicinal properties. Hence in earlier times (most notably Medieval times) silver was considered a pure or holy element. "Werewolfism" was considered a disease contracted from contact with a werewolf, most notably by being bitten. So when a werewolf was in his bestial state, the silver would harm it, potentially killing it. So yes, there is at least a shred of logic behind silver harming werewolves.

Alright, I actually have a smart answer to this question.
I would assume that too much silver in anyone would cause silver poisoning, but... seeing as this is a werewolf, I can see where the problem lies.
After all, werewolves are not real. And the movie (or the book) Blood and Chocolate is one of the last places I would go to in search for the cure to silver poisoning. It is called FICTION. Werewolves do not exist (though silver poisoning does exist).
If you were hoping for a fiction based cure, then look under Therianthropy and Spirituality, or perhaps Literature, or even Mythology & Metafauna. Ask the other kooks there.
and a note to Shalinda: give Hollywood some credit. Sure, they do a craptacular job at sex education and proper weapons handling, but the smarter film producers do try to put some logic into their work.

I'm just wondering why this thread isn't locked instantly after it pops up...
Silver= stereotypically really deadly for werewolves.
Silver= too much can still kill a human.
There is no cure for silver, becasue it's an element (like murcury), and a metal which means that silver only spreads out into something when it is heated really hot. Hot is not a good thing for anybody either.
(The exception is silver oxide which I think might seperate from silver more... but I might be wrong 70% on this one.)

Manganese helps them against silver.

Well, obviously werewolves aren't real...
Now that that's over with, there aren't many real treatments for silver poisoning. Pure silver isn't very toxic on its own to humans, and most of the stuff it combines with makes it more toxic, so you usually can't try and flush it out of the system easily. In situations where only small amounts got into the blood, you usually just have to wait it out -- taking some types of blood thinner and drinking lots of fluids tend to both help here, although the former's kinda questionable as to utility in near-humans. Some people swear that keeping higher doses of vitamin E and selenium help reduce the stuff out of the bloodstream, but do make sure not to take too much as these themselves can be unhealthy.
If there's a lot of silver, chances are good it will actually collect into new cells, which can leave nasty and nearly-permanent scarring, as well as being very risky in terms of heart disease and damage to the muscles, lungs, and blood pathways in the short term. Thankfully it won't cross the blood-brain barrier, and won't do too much damage where it's not being directly exposed to air, but it is still nasty stuff.
In extreme cases, there are chemicals that will chelate silver -- bind to it so harshly that it won't mess with anything else -- out of the blood stream, but these are extremely dangerous, not designed for medical use, and may not be effective on a near-human subject. If the situation is that bad, it may be worth seeking out whatever unofficial medical sources the werewolf has anyway, but it's still not pretty.
why? i dont know why, i just think it is, i mean, WHY should werewolves not be able to handle silver? any good reason?
Well, there are a lot of possibilities.
Firstly, silver had a lot of religious connotations. It was nearly as expensive as gold until the last couple centuries, and mostly owned by the Christian church for a good amount of time. Combine in the associations with the moon, its antimicrobial and antiviral properties, and its rather unusual chemical attributes, and it's not surprising it was associated with purity.
From a chemical viewpoint, silver is interesting. It will stay mostly pure in a normal oxygen-nitrogen environment, but reacts readily with many elements that could be found floating free in a werewolf's bloodstream. It is also deadly to many viral, bacterial, and fungal sources (a trick known back in the days of Aristotle), further explaining the associations with purity and explaining some possible interactions with near-human biology.
Silver's an interesting metal. I dunno a real reason, and I doubt it's possible to figure out exactly how it works, but it's not hard to come up with some reasonable ones.

Uhhh wow too much logic about this stuff...Thank you for the person that actually gave me the answer I was looking for. I DON'T believe in werewolves and I KNOW that it's all FICTION so stop jumping my case! I wanted to know because I'm writing a story and I needed to use something as a cure for silver...So yeah...I didn't really want people to start complaining and telling me that all this is fiction and that humans can die from silver too...I just needed "research" for my story...

Oh, so you want an actual answer based on what hollywood have made up? well... since it is all fiction then you can use whatever to cure it, how bout some ice cream with crushed almond pieces and a chocolate milkshake? that sounds like a proper cure, atleast it makes me feel better when I have injured myself :p

Yet you say "UK" in your location? It did come out here in the UK. In cinemas and it's out on DVD. I watched it on DVD recently, and I'm in the UK too. Go figure.

There is a holistic medical product known as cohlodial (sp?) silver which has healthful properties for the body if one subscribes to the value of holistic medical practices. It contains silver metal, but prepared so as not to be harmful to the body. I've used it in the past. So in some forms silver does NOT leave you as good as dead if internalized, not counting variables such as metal allergies etc.
Silver being harmful to werewolves has been popularized and expanded upon by Hollywood, BUT borrowed from dark ages legends and belief's about silver (the moon metal) and werewolves. As others have pointed out in this thread some, there is logic (crude or not) behind the silver-werewolf issue.
Calling someone brainwashed and stupid for asking a question, or because their belief's oppose yours is what is bullshit.
True, it isn't proven silver harms werewolves, why because it isn't proven werewolves exist outside of legend and the entertainment industries! "H-e-e-e-r-e's your sign!"

To answer the original question posed knowing that this is simply for a fictional story, gold. The answer is gold. Why gold? Because gold and silver have always being opposites, or at least opposing, in the economic and religious world. We all know what they mean. Gold stands for greed while silver is pure. The top competitors in jewelry are gold and silver. I know, it's not a good explanation, but this is fiction and hey, doesn't it just make click in your head about gold neutralizing silver when dealing with a fictional story?

Silver bullets are bullcrap.
Even a paper bullet can kill a werewolf if it's shot through his head.
And yes, you can make and fire paper bullets.
