a question i must ask is that do werewolves (mythically or literally) have something against armed men. i came across this in the what do you hate section" of the werewolf quiz. i cant see why they might because i like werewolves but have a thing about guns especially LMG's. The AA12 and shotguns. (google them to see what they are).
anyone have any ideas why they might hate them

Maybe its because guns kill things...? You know, bullets flying into your body isn't the greatest way to start the day. I think all things in general avoid guns as much as possible. Unless you just like guns and killing things, then that changes everything. Just a thought, ya know, throwing it out there. Because to me, that's the only logical explanation.

I would have to agree with you on this one, thats the only reason I would think besides also supposedly werewolves don't like flashing lights and maybe the flash from the bulet being shot bothers their eyes?

Simple guns are dangerous and powerful, just like (supposedly) werewolves.

I don't understand the whole silver bullet thing either.
Come on, as if a shotgun blast wouldn't do the job.
Or a nicely aimed hunting rifle. Nothing beats a bullethole between your eyes.

Taking the legend route, werewolves are generally controlled by the moon, and are therefore primarily subject to the moon's powers rather than the earth's. Silver is the metal sacred to the moon - simple enough.
Taking the magickal route, the magickal properties of silver will disrupt energy constructs. Shifting occurs by taking the astral body, reshaping it, and making it "dense" enough that it is effectively physical here. Therefore, the shifted form is more of an energy construct you wear rather than an actual change to your physical body, so it would be quite subject to the disruptive properties of silver.

Taking the medical route, being a werewolf is considered a disease.
It seems that silver has bacteria-killing properties.
But still, you'd need a whole damn lot of silver to kill all the "werewolf disease" viruses and cells at once.
I stand my ground. "BOOM! HEADSHOT!" beats silver.

As far as physical stuff is concerned. But back to the routes I offered, myths often place werewolves as being made superior to humans in multiple ways, often through magic/sorcery, demonic intervention, and other stuff of the like which might offer one protection from mundane weapons, OR, if you like my magickal route more there's always the problem that if you shoot the were in an area where there's only that astral stuff and no physical human, the bullet would most likely do nothing, though there's a chance it would knock it down (the energy of the bullet would push down the aetheric body, which would push down the physical body within it), or just hurt real bad (the astral is often conceived of as a plane of pure thought and cognition, so you would likely be cognizant of all sensations within the body of transformation).
But yes, short of either of those, head shot wins.
Unless you're the target or the person who cleans up. Then it sucks.

The old myths for killing werewolfs say that only decapitation will kill a were, silver just really hurts. The modern equivilant would be to just blow their brains out with a head shot.
So remember people when attacked by a werewolf always go for the head shot. Works with zombies to.

Like so many others on here have said, real lycanthropy is not funny, the real lycanthropic condition can be very dangerous.
