Ah yes, chili. Cheap and easy to make, put up your chili recipies, mild to chernobyl...

Zombie`s Weapons-Grade Chili!
(Very meaty version)

3 to 5 lbs of lean hamburg or venison (or buffalo)
a 16 to 24 oz can of red kidney beans
1 can of your favorite tomato sauce (minimum 16oz)
1 complete Stubbs Chili Kit
Ingredient "X" (Ill tell ya soon enough!:D )

Start off by cooking down your meat in a BIG honkin pot. When its all nicely browned, add in your beans and sauce, and let simmer. Add in a complete Stubbs Hot Chili kit (yes, the whole thing)and taste. If it isnt enough bite for you, you can add in ingredient "X"...

It is..

1 tablespoon of paprika
1 tablespoon of fresh ground peppercorn
1 pinch of fine ground clove
1 pinch ground ginger
1 teaspoon of sea salt
1 teaspoon blackstrap mollasses
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
3 fresh Jalopeno peppers
5 Habenjero peppers

I've never understood the need for chili that burns going both ways. I'd just rather put a bunch of good things in it and enjoy it as a meal instead of the hottest thing out there. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE hot things, but chili just doesn't work for me.

My family makes something a little different, white chili with chicken and chicken broth instead of beef and tomatoes. I wish I knew the recipe offhand, but I don't know it exactly; I just know that it involves chunks of cooked chicken, chicken broth, coriander, onion, green chili peppers and a few other things. It received honorable mention at a local chili cookoff just for being not what everyone else brought, plus it was pretty damn tasty (though we really overdid the onion that time!).

Neon, there is no such thing as overdoing the onion! Onion is a religion! A perfume! A snack! A meal! A dessert!

Spring Onion Cookies

150 g All-purpose flour
2 tsp Baking powder
2 tsp Sugar
1/3 tsp Salt
1 tbsp Water
30 g Chopped spring Onion
60 g Margarine

Melt the margarine together with sugar in a small pot over the low heat. Dissolve the salt in water, then add into margarine mixture, stir in spring onions and mix well.

Sift flour and baking powder and sieve into the margarine and onion mixtures. Form the ingredients into a dough. Preheat the oven to 170C/345F.

Meanwhile place the dough on a baking paper, roll out about 1 mm thick. Then cut into the desired patterns.

Prick the dough randomly with a toothpick or a fork, then bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes.

Who's man enough to test the recipe?

I got some onion cookies today at the international market. They are good--- they have the texture of a good buttery shortbread cookie and the taste of an onion cracker. Think I'll go back tomorrow and buy two more boxes.
