View Full Version : Where do you stand in the zodiac?

I stole this a bit from the 'What animal represents you' thread but that's only because I didn't want to bog it down with something slightly off topic.
What is your true animal, as ordained by mythology and astrology? I like this because it allows some creative licence and you can get some pretty cool sounding results.
What you need to do is look for your animal and element in the Chinese zodiac. You can do that here. (http://www.tuvy.com/entertainment/chinese_horoscope.ht m)
For me that is an Earth Dragon
Then look up your sign and element in the western zodiac as well here. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Astrology_and_the_cl assical_elements#.E5 .9C.9F_Earth)
For me that's Gemini which is Air.
So, what have I got to play with? Earth, Dragon, Twins, Air.
Twist 'em around a bit and you find out what I am:
The Twin Dragons Of Earth And Air!
I thought people could try out their own and get some pretty cool or funny sounding results like if you for example (This is random) get say:
Metal, Dog, Pisces and Water you could say you're a Steel Wolf or an Iron Shark or even a Golden Shower. You don't have to use both signs from the Chinese and Western zodiac but try it.
Give it a go guys, you might be surprised at what you, or others, think up for you.

Lmao, now that really does sound like something out of an anime.
I think some of the humorous ones are better than the cool sounding ones.
So you got Fire, Tiger, Water, Fish
That's actually quite tricky! Howsabout a Tigershark? They're pretty neat. Then again you could always be the Soggy Moggy also know as the wet cat or the char-grilled fish known as barbeque tuna steak.
I notice that one of your western zodiac colours is Silver. Why not be the Silver Tiger?

Wood, rat, Libra, air, eh?
Rat with wind? Wooden scales? Naked mole rat of the forest?
Bare with me here. I will find something.
If you combine air with rat you get a a flying rat, so that makes a bat. Libra was associated with the greek goddess of justice so now we have:
Neon Light Child! The Vampire Bat of Justice! Saving the day at night! Drinking the blood of the evil to save the good, armed with... Wood!

Neon Light Child! The Vampire Bat of Justice! Saving the day at night! Drinking the blood of the evil to save the good, armed with... Wood!
I could live with that. Good thinking, making the rat into the bat...all I can think of is the rat that I was just working with in the Skinner box! Your imagination must be running wild today or something like that. Mine is pretty nonexistent today (or at least out to lunch) and that's putting it lightly.
Ohhh, revelation: if I'm a Vampire Bat of Justice and wood is my power-weapon, then that means I am the only vampire out there immune to it! No stakes through the heart for me! :droolbloo

That says I'm a Salmon (July 22 - August 21), which to a degree describes me pretty well, except for a few things.
Earth: a time to mature
Direction: south
Wind: south wind, totem: mouse
Animal Totem: salmon
Mineral:carnelian
Plant: raspberry
Color: red
Personality: enthusiasm, self-confident, pride, full of energy
Emotion: intensive, passionate
Intentions: rule
Best Times: best day: Saturday; best time of day: between 11am and 1pm, between 11pm and 1 am
Positives: creativity, magnanimity, generosity
Negatives: arrogance, intolerance, despotic, dogmatic
Best With Other...: owl, falcon
Goals: rule
Sub-Desires: stability in feelings
Needs To Work On: ability to judge, emotional stability, tolerance
Try To Avoid: boasting, arrogance, indifference*
Life: to find a certain goal
--------------------------
Combining that with fire, lion, water, and monkey that now makes me a... fresh/salt-water lion-fish that likes spicy hot sea-monkeys!
*Oh hell no, I won't do such a god damn thing! I like being indifferent (especially compared to those I live around), and that's just the way I'm staying.

As previously mentioned, I am a water element twice over, a Water Monkey and a Pisces. The animal in the Chinese zodiac symbolizing water is the Black Tortoise.
So I would be like a Hydratic Reptillian Monkey Fish. Or like the Japanese kappa.

Again, I am going to be very creative with this one.
Right first, Taurus is the bull right? If you remember your greek mythology or cryptozoology then you'll know of the minotaur. A half man half bull monster. Real cool looking and incredibly strong. Used to feast on human flesh.
Imagine, if you will, a half bull half monkey creature. You have the size and ferrocity of a minotaur coupled with the agility of a simian creature. Now armed with the element of earth you have....

I have earth, snake, Leo, and fire. Leo is a lion which can symbolize majesty and the snake can symbolize guardianship so I'm a majestic blazing guardian of the earth. I also came up with venomous burning earth lion how I came up with that should be obvious. Finally if you combine earth and fire you get lava which comes from a volcano. Lion is also a symbol of kingly might so I could also be a volcanic snake king.

They are called astrological birth charts. Basically they are a more complex and unique version of your zodiac. It shows where everything was at the time of your birth. My mom did one for everyone in the family when I was like 9 or so.

No, it is the correct version. While the sun sign (the sign) is indeed the most major one, alone it's like having the frame and the wheels of a car and trying to call it the entire car.
The sun sign is a good place to start, but the other signs all add, change, and take away from it, and for many people the combinations of the other signs gives them a reading that is entirely different than what their sun sign alone says.

It's best just to get a book on it. Basically every sign has attributes, and every planet has attributes, and the combination thereof is how you read it.
For example; Venus for the most part relates to how you are emotionally. I have Venus in Aries, and Aries is a very dominant and active sign. This means that I'm much more likely go out and find a date rather than sit and wait for one to just show up, and that I won't be submissive (though not necessarily bossy or mean). Aquarius is a very easy-going fun-loving sort of sign, so people with Venus in Aquarius are usually outgoing with lots of friends (and usually some really weird friends). Sometimes people with that combination have trouble being in a long-term relationship because it is in their nature of be open and connected with everyone and having one person taking the spot light can be kind of weird.

Pisces tend to be more emotional and draw power from their emotions. They also are said to have many of the attributes from all of the other members of the zodiac. We are more lazy sometimes, but innovative and caring.

Western Zodiac, I'm a Taurus (an APRIL Taurus, not any of you crazy May ones), which for you kids who don't know, is represented by the Earth Element. So its not that big of a surprise when the Chinese Zodiac puts me as Earth also.

Your request is my pleasure.
Virgo constellation depicts Astraea who supposedly ruled the world with her wise ways until mankind became so callous that she returned to the skies. A flying horse is pretty nifty, I'd say. Your metal is Quicksilver or Mercury which is pretty neat. And so this makes your animal...
The gentle yet powerful winged mare of judgement. When you gallop across the night sky you leave a trail of silver dust which hangs in the air like the stars from whence you came and, when man finally destroys itself, will return to become a constellation and live forever in the heavens.
If I have missed anyone out who wants me to have a stab at theirs, give me a shout.

Alright, this one’s for Hitodama who is a Scorpio which is a water element and an earth snake.
I did think about using the scorpion but then I had this idea. One of the colours for Scorpio is Black and it’s metal is steel or iron. And did you know that the Scorpio constellation is associated with the scorpion that killed Orion? If you mix the water and the snake you get the Leviathan and if you combine this with the previous you get….
The Leviathan of black steel. 300 miles long with devastating power, this serpent of the deep can cause tsunamis with a swing of it’s mighty tail and has killed millions, including a god.

Hmm, it’s getting tough to not repeat myself (Why can’t you guys have different signs!?) but I think I can do this one for Dark Hunter.
You’re a Taurus. The Taurus is associated with a whole bunch of gods (Which is handy for me) so I thought I would use the association with the god Quetzalcoatl. Quetzalcoatl is an Aztec weather god. The name is a combination of quetzal, a brightly colored Mesoamerican bird, and coatl, meaning serpent. See how it fits in nicely with your snake sign too? Quetzalcoatl is often referred to as The Feathered Serpent God and the lord of the star of the dawn as he is associated with Venus, the morning star. Also, your birthstone is diamond. I’m sure I can work with that, especially since one of your characteristics is protective.
It seems only right that you are Uktora, the diamond horned serpent that guards the gates to the underworld. Being a god in your own right you have control over the weather and use it to your advantage using the wind to usher in the souls of the dead and turning back those that try to intrude with driving rain, snow and lighting, preventing the gates ever being breached. The breath of the Uktora is so pestilential, that no living creature can survive should they inhale the tiniest bit of it.
As an extra twist, the name is taken from the actual Cherokee monster called the Uktena which is said to have guarded the underworld and have poisonous breath.

Cancer! Duck!
Well, crab. Let's have a look-see... Your metal is Silver and your sign represents shelled animals. You are also a dragon and are a water sign. I found something from true mythology that fits in really quite well.
Your creature is The Dragon Turtle. This is a powerful creature that symbolises wealth, health, prosperity and protection. Legend has it that the turtle has within his body the secret of heaven and earth and the design of his shell shows the magic square, which is the guide for life. This creature is the combination of two of the four celestial animals in Chinese mythology.
