From the bottom of my heart and my gullet I give my thanks to you guys for having this section. Food is the stuff that makes a community a home. Please share and share alike your recipes with me. I have many to give to the rest of you. As an honest question though... what is the importance about food to you? Seriously food in our different cultures is more then just sustinance. What does food mean really to you?

Personally, it's mostly something to keep me from passing out. Something quick and then go back to what I was doing. But I know what you mean. My dad and aunt were always wanting to go out for a good meal, preferably a buffet. And to go even furnther back, a holiday wasn't a holiday for my grandmother unless there was a special meal for it. Even birthdays. The birthday kid got to say what the menu would be, and got to choose what kind of cake.

In my culture food is extremely important (not just because you need it to live:) ) Every Sunday we still have family dinners together always, food was a way for us to express ourselves (we love to cook and try new things) and a way for us to come together especially through times of hardship cooking and eating together always made things better. The girls in my family are taught at a very young age how to cook (starting at 4!) and are taught to add something all their own to the meal. tutta che abbiate bisogno di nella vita è buon alimento, buona gente e buona conversazione. :)

What it means to me...
Well, for about a year and a half now I have been using cooking as a way of relieving stress and conquering boredom. I love to spend hours in the kitchen experimenting with different recipes and different ways to adjust them to suit my tastes. There's nothing better than cooking up a storm when you feel a bit down or flustered.
It's amazing how much passion can be shown through cooking and yes, I would love to share some of my recipes with you guys.
