I would tell that person I'd call them. I'd need to think about it first but after some contemplation I'd be completely excited and jumping at the chance. I would be a werecat; I'd also make that person give me their address in case something went horribly wrong and it was all their fault. (not that I'd blame them unreasonably) I'd also make sure it was at a time where (in case of an incapacitating situation) I wouldn't be in school for a while and didn't have any commitments.

hhhmmm I hate what if questions cause you really don't know what you will do/think unless your in that situation. I would say it depends. If the whole immortality thing is true (which as far as I know of reading the legends they are not immortal) then I would say no, I wouldn't want to live forever, I would want to go home to my parents. If not, having that kind of power and sex drive man sign me up :)

If I had the chance to become the werewolf of legends, I don't think I'd do it. Sure, changing into an anthro-wolf might be fun, but then someone would kill me. Too many problems asscoiated with that.

I wouldn't mind just turning into a plain old wolf. Yes, I would go down to the animal level of intelligence, but I wouldn't mind it.

I wouldn't mind being a vampire; late nights, sleep in, no eating -only drinking, good reason to skip sunday church ("I'm burning!!!"), flying above the traffic, etc.

A werewolf however - receives neighborhood's ill attention ("That's a rather large 'dog' across the street, eating Herman's cat.., call the dog pound!"), can't piss in human restrooms (can't hit 'target' area), always in the 'doghouse', constant shedding, fur "coat" causes overheating, eating raw meat = really bad breath, changing back (to human) while away from home ('Where'd I hide those clothes?', 'Someone STOLE them!') = problems, dog fleas, sleepy people screaming at your nightly howling, etc.

I think it would be really interesting to be a wereanimal. If I had the choice though I think I would stay human. However, if I was a wereanimal I would like to be a werecat. As in a housecat, not a tiger or lion or anything like that. But yeah, I enjoy being human, and besides, if wereanimals are immortal that would suck unless all my friends and family were immortal too, I would hate to outlive them all by that much. And on that topic, if nothing killed me first then I would live to see the extinction of various plants and animals, possibly humans. Also, since the sun will eventually become a red giant star it would kind of murder the Earth and if I was alive when that happened...

Hm... I'd be a werevelociraptor! I could jump higher than any other land animal in existance. My best move would be a flying jump kick that could destroy a car. I'd be able to simply walk up the side of a building, no hands or other equipment required. And if I did somehow fall, I could rely on my quick reactions to land on the ground or another, close enough, building safely. Oh, and I'd have a screeching roar that is garentied to pop out your eardrums or your money back! :D

Agreed. The rest of the body is fine, but that spot right between the eyes, WTF!? Those two white things, how the hell did the artist get the idea to put them there? I mean humans don't have any bulging muscles on the sides of there upper nose nor do wolves! Also, those eyebrows seem a bit too far up on it's face. That, and it looks like its lips have been stretched out into its lower cheeks. Again, all of these things aren't present on humans or wolves, so they shouldn't be there! I'm not even going to comment on the neck. Scratch that. I will. I know wolves have a mane that makes there necks look as thick/thicker than their heads, but that's just fur! If you're going to sketch the wolf's side mane on a human body, then also add the front & back mane as well (and the back mane should extend all the way to the wolf's mid back). Sorry, I just felt like ranting. Well that got out some built up frustration that randomly just wanted to be let out. ^_^

If they cannot shapeshift they are not werewolves. It's the fundamental requirement to being a werewolf. A werewolf is a person who has permanently or has the ability to change into a wolf or a state inbetween (an anthropomorphic wolf, id est the hollywood beast-thing). If they cannot become a wolf or an anthropomorphic variant, they are not werewolves.

in all honestly, and this may be just my opinion, I felt Archy was pushed to it, I can't remember a post he made or replied to that you didn't attack him for, maybe one or two here and there but for the most part you were on his ass ridiculing everything he said. He is a kid, if he believes unicorns can shit grapes what does it matter? Honestly the world won't end cause he looks at or believes in different things. I don't think anyone even gave him half a chance which is sad, I got to know him through PM and he is a really cool person, my opinion. All he had to do was look up any of his past posts and see his behavior. And this is the internet. You're not gonna get along with every person on a message board. Actually it does. Ignore blocks PMs, and prevents any of the posts from ever appearing on your screen. When you put somebody on ignore, to you, the system regards it as if they weren't a member. You stop seeing them on member's list, you can't see if they're online, you can't see their posts, you cannot receive PMs from them, they cannot use board features to contact you (id est, they cannot use the e-mail form facility), you can no longer view their profiles, et cetera. Basically, in all respects, it's as if they're no longer a member at the site.

Actually it does. Ignore blocks PMs, and prevents any of the posts from ever appearing on your screen. When you put somebody on ignore, to you, the system regards it as if they weren't a member. You stop seeing them on member's list, you can't see if they're online, you can't see their posts, you cannot receive PMs from them, they cannot use board features to contact you (id est, they cannot use the e-mail form facility), you can no longer view their profiles, et cetera. Basically, in all respects, it's as if they're no longer a member at the site.

holy shit I didn't know thta?! Question then, I ignored William, has he been on or posted anything?? How do you unignore someone?

To unignore somebody go to your User CP (http://www.werewolf.com/vb/usercp.php), in the lefthand menu near the bottom should be an option for "Buddy / Ignore List (http://www.werewolf.com/vb/profile.php?do=editl ist)". The page shows two lists, your buddies, then anyone you have on ignore. In that second list untick their name then press the Save List button. The person will no longer be ignored.

After doing a check I realise that while their messages are hidden it still shows a message with a link to unignore to see their message:

So, really a banned user can't get back on, except to see an error message on any page they try to view. The only way is if they're stopped being banned. But Willy is on a permaban it seems.

Yup, he created archenemafan (http://www.werewolf.com/vb/member.php?u=10151), although I don't think he realised what an enema is. ;)

While the account is banned it doesn't stop you viewing the site as a guest - clear cookies and logout, then you're a guest and can just click on the register button.

Why archy made a new account I don't know, he'll be unbanned soon - the ban was only for 10 days.

I've been talking to him in myspace, he didn't mention it. If someone gets banned for good, theres no way at all for them to come back as a member? Only a visitor?

It could be somebody else, but I doubt it. But anyway, no, he'd need to appeal to the admins if he got a permanent ban. I doubt he'd get a permanent ban, as long as he learns we aren't out to get him, and to think a little bit before posting. There have been worse members who got banned and came back and are now quite respected and contribute well.

Archy's made some good posts. He's also made some fairly retarded ones as well, if he can think just a bit before posting - mostly on just word-choice rather than idea - everything would be fine. That and assuming every reply to him is full of insult and anger etc.

He has the potential to come back and contribute better and be fine etc. The ban is just a warning, something to help him learn. He has the intelligence to do so and providing he does he need not ever worry about a permaban.

I think he has learned a lot :) he's young, but he is finding his way. Thankys for the info I always wondered what happen to William and wondered if he could come back. I am glad he is gone :)

I'd just like to point out something. He can create a new account regardless if the proxy keeps his IP from doing so. There are many many sites that allow you to bypass the proxy servers. I sign into another forum site that I was banned from in this way. Though he's told me he doesn't plan on coming back. Personally, I don't care I have a few other ways of contacting him if need be. Just thought I'd point that out though.

Proxies work by overriding your I.P. with theirs, and feeds site to you through their I.P. That's it really. Ban their I.P. and you limit the proxy. If you can ban all of their I.P.s the proxy is rendered useless for ban bypassing. So it just depends on how actively the mods are.

Plus every new account made to bypass ban means new e-mail etc. A lot of hassle, just to post on a message board.

There's also the mass-ignore. A feature that forces every usergroup to ignore you with no message to indicate and no way of removing unless admin does it. This basically means he won't be banned, but we won't be aware of his membership existence in any way and he won't know that.

It takes more effort for him to keep trying to annoy us, than it does for us (read: admins) to add onto that effort. Proxies or no. Yes, proxies can bypass a ban, but only because the staff who ban at the site are lazy or don't care enough to reban, which, speaking from limited experience, is rarely the case here. If archy's second account starts posting, it'll get banned too with no effort from an admin but a few seconds to click a button.

If he wanted to come back and annoy us, he can try, but it'll frustrate him more to keep signing up again and again than it would for an admin to just click "ban". ;)

The topic of this thread is in the title, and it got thrashed from the arguing and it's not an in-depth topic to begin with, and one that has been covered many, many, times before. Being off-topic now isn't anything to lose sleep over. Especially when the author of the topic hasn't been on in two months and isn't even reading the topic.

That's assuming he, or whoever, starts replying in the ways the he did before, or if someone figured out that it was him posting. It would be stupid to create a new account and keep on doing whatever it is you did to get banned.

True, but if he comes back and replies normally and contributes, then the ban taught him and therefore served its purpose.

People are banned for being annoying retards, if they stop being annoying retards I doubt anyone would have a problem with their return. If Willy comes back under new name and contributes well in a way that doesn't scream "I'm an ignorant moron" then all's good and well.

Yes, but you're now contributing decently, so it all worked out. It's counterproductive to reban you if you're contributing worthwhile posts.

I can assure you, knowing exactly what tools the site staff have at their disposal, they're extremely likely to know exactly who you were before. They are choosing to not reban you, because why ban somebody when they are making good posts?

Just find a few you're knowledgeable in, or can readily discount as being fallacious, and you're set. Remember, it's not up to you to prove the other person wrong (for which only one null set is required), but for them to prove that they're right. More simply put, always play the "burden of proof" card. The ones I usually get in tend to be slightly weighted in my favor, however.

Oh, and on topic, I'd totally take a month off just to read some good books unrelated to my work.
