i found this in a link to another message board in another thread. apparantly it's been officially decided between many were sites and message boards that this is now the official symbol for Therianthropes:

http://shadow.tailhole.org/pub/files/Symbol_TD.jpg

has this been around for a while, or did this just happen recentally, or what?

i, personally, plan on enthusizing it's use, as i've been thinking that we should get something like this for a while now.

No, it's not an 'offical' symbol for therianthropes. There is not, and never will be one.

That symbol is something that was thought up over at therianthropy.org and the Werelist forums. A bunch of people had discusions about the 'were symbol' and it has been decided that for that group, and anyone wanting to participate or use that symbol, that it's the symbol to represent their wereism.

In no way is it an offical symbol for all weres, just something a lot of indidivuals have chosen to display for themselves.

Originaly it was a triangle and not a 'delta' (the dash thing in the middle makes it a delta), but because some moronic people said and I quote ;"That's too gay! A triangle!" it got changed. Howevera lot of people still use the triangle, upside down or right side up. Your wereside animal goes in the center.

The topics aren't hard to find if you venture over to werelist.com and Therianthropy.org.

Please don't mistake this or any otehr symbol as a definite therianthropy 'must have'.

There aint any such thing. :) Purrsonaly I find a 'were symbol' concept to be rediculous, but if someone wants to use one, it doesn't affect me any. *shrugs*

well that was pretty informative.

i don't find it to be ridiculous though. i see it as a great way to identify other were's in public, and i believe it could be an important tool for strengthening the were community.

I belive this have been discussed once here at ww.com.

And I think we agreed that it after all would be a very bad idea. During to certain reasons. The only reason I can remember is that, if it was discovered or misused, we would have problems. Like..
If a kid surfing the net saw it and thought "hey, cool logo!" and then put it on his school back, other weres would think he was a part of the were community. And maybe start talking freely about it ect. That's one of the few reasons I think we never agreed on having a official logo or sign.

I love it. I've seen some weres scream, "WE AREZ NOT TEH CULTZ!!1!!" and then . . . look, a symbol!

I'm with Fluffy on this one: I think a symbol is pretty stupid, but whatever floats your nookie, I guess.

I think it's a good idea to have a symbol. If someone was surfing the 'net and found the therianthropy symbol, there would probably be obvious statements regarding therianthropy on the website. There have been other "official" symbols before (none of which have gained this much popularity, though), and I don't see anyone trotting around saying, "Hey, look at me! I got a tattoo of a random symbol and I have no idea what it means! Aren't I cool?"
I doubt a "were trend" will burst out of us having a symbol. It is a nice way for us to recognize each other (I think), and I think the more therians that will wear it, the better our chances of meeting another therian. But, that's my opinion...

The only "symbol" I've ever used for wereism is a paw print. Simple, effective, and beautiful. Plus, it's just common enough that only weres would really understand it's significance.

This triangle/circle/dash thing offends me as an artist. How...BORING.

God don't I agree! I think if we had a sybol it should by a paw print with wolf eyes in the middle but somehow it would be made with photo shop or something. And all whispy and pretty like.
Or heres something I came up with, I got an inspiration with this symbol thing, but they really just turned out as cool art thing, or a banner... but I doubt there will ever be a symbol...

Uh . . . I think the whole point of the circle-triangle thing is to be neutral as to species. Not all therianthropes are wolves, so not all of them would want wolf eyes on their symbol.

Yea, don't you just love the wolf - everyone else segregation? I know I find it amusing.

I have no offical comment on this thread just a few questions. Is there a werwolf symbol? Where did you find that offical symbol? Could ya give me a link please? Who makes these symbols official?
Those are my questions,

Check the symbol contest to find a link.

There is nothing official in a society of change.

When I say "should" in this post, I mean along the lines of "it'd be cool"

I say symbols should be unique to each person. As each person is different, each person should make their own, pulling it from the depths of who they are. Otherwise it's just uniformity. Kinda like avatars.

Thats my word on the subject.
