Well hello everyone. I'm new here and I'll just say hello before I get on with the topic.
Anyway, I just pose this question out of the slight possobility of anyone having any clue about it.
Has anyone heard of a wandering spirit that is known as ' The Hollow'? And if so what have you heard?
Thanks peeps!

I'm intrigued. Please tell me what 'The Hollow' is. You have apparently heard of this, and while you may be asking here to actually find a definition, you have enough info to at least ask about it. If you don't have the definition to share, I'd be interested to know clues: Where/when/how did you hear about The Hollow? In what context? Was there a story surrounding the Hollow (even if the Hollow wasn't described clearly within this story)? ...these sorts of clues, something that could create leads that could be followed, tracked down, and possibly pegged.
You can probably tell I'm interested ;)

Thank you for sharing my intrest Obsidian.
What little information I've gathered is that the Hollow is a parasite/spirit that is left over from a war in some unknown time. It wanders in death seeking to become invincible (though I don't know its weakness other than vanity). I'd rather not discuss how I know of it at the moment. Ummmm.... It feeds off certain energies of living things, but kind of protects them temporarily in return. I don't really know much more beyond that though.....
Well, I hope that helps you a little. If you have more questions feel free to ask, I may or may not have an answer to them.

Fortunately, what you've described is pretty common, even if this specific type is not, and the best way to deal with this sort of thing in general is to not 'feed' it with attention. However, sometimes this can result in a poltergeist-like (note: 'like', meaning that this is not a poltergeist, but a spirit that may be able to produce telekinetic effects when pissed rather like poltergeist / cast off chaotic energy from a living individual). If The Hollow does not simply fade from starvation, and does indeed retalliate with telekinetic / physical effects, then, no matter how freaky in the moment, you've really got this sucker's weakness actually. When this happens, that means there is a physical bond / anchor / relationship that The Hollow is linked to, and can therefor be influenced by. You correlate the Hollow with a longlost battle. Maybe there is an artifact that correlates with this longlost battle. Find it, and deal with it. It could be as simple as finding it. Maybe its an unrest thing that needs to RIP, so have a nice, safe little campfire featuring this artifact. However (again), this is a form of 'attention' that could feed the Hollow. So, I hold to the first: just starve the thing with lack of attention if you see it as harmful. Don't be seduced by it. Don't trust it. Definitely don't let it inside you. No matter what kind of 'light show' it can produce, and how far you may or may not have developed your own abilities, you still ultimately have the 'upper hand' because you are actually living here and now, and can focus your attention in ways that a lot, probably most 'leftover' type spirits can't.
I hope it goes well for you!

May I ask where your intial exposure to the information about The Hollow came from?
How did you hear about it? What documentation do you know of? And is there a specific group that is researching this phenomenon?

"The Hollow" that you speak of, sure does seem like the "Hollow" from the sitcom "Charmed." This spirit that roamed around and became so powerfull that heaven and hell agreed to guard it... Well, I am bored with this thread...if it isn't a roleplayer, it's someone who watches entirely too much TV...

This is unfortunate. I don't watch tv, so I didn't realize that this could be something someone may have 'borrowed' from mass media. I do acknowledge paranormal phenomena, and I do remain firm on the advice that I've given if this is actually a paranormal encounter that is being personally experienced. However, if this Hollow situation is actually something pulled from mass media, and not a real experience, then I feel a bit embarassed actually for trying to be helpful when really being duped. My intention here has in no way been to contribute to the sort of spiritual hypcondria that can be a byproduct of taking any form of mass media too seriously.

actually Charmed has a tendency to "borrow" creatures from world wide myths to exploit as evil...like their "warlock= bad; witch= good" scenario they like to use...i haven't heard of the hoolow befor but i do have trouble with bogeys or whatever one would choose to call the mischievious darting shadows

the hollow simply refers to a wandering spirit...
the russian word didn't translate well and so whoever translated into english decided to call them hollows (they have no forms)
it's no different than a ghost
the idea of a 'hollow' has been used a lot mostly in the last decade by writers and hollywood because they don't like using the traditional terms like ghost and spirit (it's just too cliche)
mostly they are dumbasses...it's what happens when you become an entertainment executive

I'd like to thank the person who started this thread, last night I had a dream. This morning I couldn't remember what it was about, and its been bugging me all day. This thread has reminded me exactly what that dream was- and it had nothing to do with "hollow", but damn right freaky non the less!
cheers

i read about something like that in a book before except they were called "larvae". shapeless forms who lurk in graveyards, hospitals, nursing homes and the like feeding off of weakened and confused souls...
