Which would explain why there are no casinos in China. But being super cereal now. What are you views on this?
I think it's a bit terrible to be honest.
Should we be boycotting the Olympics and it's sponsors or should sporting and political matters be kept separate? After all, the Olympics were held in Nazi Germany so why not now? Your thoughts please.

The Olympics are basically pointless. They should be discontinued.
Everybody hates somebody. Nearly everyone is pissed off at the U.S. right now, and I don't blame them. Besides, China and Tibet have always had issues.

It's a difficult question. On one hand I don't like China's human right's violations and governmental censorship, and if we (the USA) didn't help get them into the WTO and depend on their cheap labour, we'd be in a better position to slap them down some. On the other hand, I'm not sure I'm too keen on the Dalai Lama and his cronies reassuming power in Tibet.
Of course a lot of people think the Olympics should be free from politics and strife. I think these people are nuts and obviusly don't know anything about the history of the Olympics, especially in recent years.
I also hate the fact that the Olympics seem to be an excuse for some to show off their extremely jingoistic side. And often it's pretty embarassing.

Deep, but I was looking for a little insight.
I think the Olympics should be boycotted. It seems that this has already had some effect which, for China, is nothing short of miraculous. I believe the last thing I heard on the situation was 'China are thinking about it'. I think the support from all over the globe is fantastic too.

I totally agree. I think Tibet should be helped to establish some form of government that lets them maintain their way of life with the people suffering under any oppression, whether it be from the Dalai Lama or the Chinese Government. Their customs and traditions are slowly being crushed by the Chinese, it’s a terrible thing to see.

As an American I can safely say, No, we should not boycott china. As a matter of fact, I think any future dealings we do with china should be behind closed doors, and out of the media, just because it seems that if some powerful political figure went on TV and said, "We don't really like what china's doing, but were not going to protest the olymics" china would probably take it as giving them the finger, and I'm sure china has incognito ways of getting back at us (remember those led-based painted toys?). Not to mention the fact that china has the largest army in the world, china is an extremely important manufacturer of US goods, AND, china has nukes. Look, I don't really like the idea of kissing ass to china, but until we prove that we can live without china, I think we don't have much of a choice.

Remember China's market taking a HUGE nosedive when American companies stopped selling products containing large amounts of lead?

On one hand I hate china's human rights violations, on the other I hate the duechebags with the Free tibet stickers on their SUVs who have no idea about anything even remotely related to the China/Tibet situation. Half these people sound like they think Tibet is some guy on death row.
Boycotting the Olympics is not fair to the athletes, and just lets other countries claim the medals. If you can use 90% of the products in your daily life that come from chinese sweatshops, you have no right to scream that the US should withdrawl from the olympics. Frankly I don't think anyone meets the criteria for that. if they do, they're probably a stupid hippy living in a nature commune and no one cares what they think anyway.

Note: These are probably the same people who wear those Che Guevara shirts too.
