I like bacon cheeseburgers, but I don't know what to think about the egg.

it is NOT american cuisine!
up here, depending on which part of the country you live in or are visiting we call that a Farmer burger, a Logger burger, a Railroader special, or the Fisherman's breakfast.
'course, proper ingredients includes at least one burger patty, cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and the fried egg (or sunnyside up if you want yolk dripping...we got guys who prefer it messy like that, don't ask me why).
and it always must have chips on the side.
