This could fly in either the spirituality or dream categories... cause it involved a little of both.
For those of you who haven't been around me before... from time to time I've dreamed that a "wolf-spirit" has come my way and made steps to teach me how to shapeshift. Anyway... I haven't seen it in awhile, but last time I did, it told me to to gather the following things together:
A small round mirror, a bowl, some sage or sage-incense, a peice of moonstone, a gray feather, and some drinking water.
I haven't been able to find a gray feather, or a single peice of moonstone, so it's a work in progress.
But anyway... does anyone have any idea what these things could be used for? I don't see how they would be helpful. Except for the drinking water, because you can drink it.

Moonstone was the birthstone for the month of June. Also, it was considered, by the Romans, to have a captured piece of moonlight inside it. It's still considered sacred in India. You can find it online very cheap - less than 10 bucks for a very small piece. In myth, it's good for 'balancing emotions, encourage growth strength, aids harmony,' and is a 'digestive aid' (not when consumed.) I don't know if it has any relation to a 'werewolf spell' or meditation, but I don't have any of my research books here, so I'll check them once I get home.

The rest of it is kind of reminescient of some type of Asian ritual. The mirror represents knowledge of self in that setting, while the feather could symbolize air and general knowledge - wind goes everywhere. If you want to find one... go anywhere with pigeons. I don't know what sage is used for, exluding to make spagetti sauce, so someone else will have to find that one for me. Water tends to be a symbol of clarity.

The bowl would hold the water.

Anyway, these are just a few guesses. They are probably incorrect, but I apologize for any errors.

It was a sacred ritual very used between the Native American and some other tribes for thousands of years. It is a cleansing and <puriication> of the physical and spiritual bodies. Now is still used to clean energie fields.
You just have to buy the sage and burn it a bit (really, a bit is more then necessary) as if it is incense.

(Ps-People that do smudging always say to show respect for the erb and <thank it> when you use it), since often is seen as a sacred one.

You fool, the wolf sprit just gave you your wish to shape shift, and now you can't figure it out can you? Heheheheh, I am sorry Hehehehe, ok, look, it's rather simple. What the wolf spirit gave you was a doorway for which your spirit -animal can come through to this world and become one with you. That's the gift of shape-shifting... Ha, you still don't get it, do you. Hehehehe... Here's how you work it.

First you find a quiet place, either in deep woods or in the mountains are the best for wolves and other were's of that type..see, you have four types: earth/air/water/fire. Depending on the type your spirit is, you need to set this up at: earth /woods air/mountains, water by a lake and so on. If you go to a lake, then you need to find a quiet place, where there are no unnatural sounds; where you can be totally alone, and where you've got a clear view of the night sky.

Then you take the bowl and place it on an earth alter that you have made. Then you take the water and pour it into the bowl until it is full. Then you take the small round mirror and lay it in the water, being careful not to spill a drop of water (EDIT: If the bowl is full, of water, wouldn't some of the water come out because of displacement?). You put the moonstone on the center of the mirror, and carefully moving the bowl so as to catch the reflection of the moon in the center of the water. Then you take the sage and light it, and stand facing the east and say "Grandfather, I stand here, be for you ambuley(EDIT: I don’t know), I ask that you send me my guardian Spirit, so as we may become as one, and serve you, and to walk the red road”.

Then you take the grey feather and you fan the smoke you tack the grey feather an you fan the smoke of the sage over your face and body, then you turn to the south and again rasie the sage as you call whichever wolf goddess you serve (EDIT: Like I said, these aren’t my views and I take no responsibility for your actions), and say “hear o goddess ____ the wolf, hear the cry of your pup that is lost an cant find his way home. Hear, he’s longing to be returned to your bussom, bless me with your wisdom and power to find my way home, an once again be united with my people”.

Then, you again take your feather and the sage and wash the smoke over your body. Then, take a deep breath, and as you blow the smoke out, you again take the grey feather, and wave the smoke over your face. Then you turn to the west and again you repeat the sage exercise, and say “The land of the night and the frost wolf that comes and takes us to the grandfather to be judged for our crimes, show me now the test that you gave to the frost wolf. I am ready to be judged”.

Then you again use the sage as before, then you again take a big inhale of the sage. Then you turn to the north and say “Grandmother Earth, you who takes care all that lives with you, and on you and in you. Who gives all of yourself and gives life to all living things, I ask you to grant me life with my spirit so as we maybe become as one, and become a new spirit”.

Then again you do the sage exercise as you did in the east, then you sit in front of the bowl as you picture what your werespirit looks like in your mind. You raise the sage skyward and say “Grandmother moon, hear your servant”, and then speak from the heart whatever you want to ask of her, and lay the sage behind the water bowl, and watch as the water starts to glow with the moon’s rays. It will get really bright.
Then when your eyes ajust to it start picturing yourself being drowned in the water towards the moonstone and through it. As you go through it, turn up toward the moon. As your body does this you will start to see the werespirit coming the other way. You will see him/her clearer as he/she gets closer. As they pass through you will start to feal at different stages your body becoming one with the spirit. As you do your body will be filled with a numbing pain. I’ll tell you as you become one with the spirit most of us pass out from the pain, but when you wake up you will be a wolf or whatever were type you are.


Finally...done....Wh at did you expect? I'm a village idiot :D :banghead: :D ;)

Xzengrim: I'm not going to deny you had these dreams, but you have to understand that dreams are sometimes just that: dreams. They're not always prophetic or revealing of future events/rituals to be done/whatever. Now, I'm not saying dreams can't be prophetic, but you have to know where the line lies.

Thanks for the advice. I don't really believe in wolf spirits (my own interpretation of the whole thing is rather Freudian), but I figure... what harm could it do? I already spend time meditating. Any form of prayer or ritual this thing generates seems like its going to be just more meditation, only with the prerequisite of building or doing something first. Not much different.
Oh well.
Ps... Nivek... I will send you a message. What kind of moonstone is it? I found a string of moonstone beads, very small, but that doesn't seem like it's going to cut it. I got the idea that the thing had to be at least about the size of a grape. Anyway, you'll see the message...

Let's see.. a common ritual..

Eating those crackers and grape juice in church. Communion!
A ritual done by christians. To represent (symbolize) the blood and flesh of their Christ, symbolizing how he died for them and shit, and by his death, they are 'saved.' So, they eat him. Stinkin' cannibals.

But, after a while, just sheer will and thought doesn't cut it. So symbolism along with power in rituals make it easier. But first, you have to understand how the symbolism works.

Anyway, Xzengrim, I do find it funny that two items - sage and moonstone - are folk treatments for indegestion, not when eaten; mirrors and bowls of water are used for advanced concentration. Maybe it's more of a meditation ritual, though I can't be sure.
