In a technical sense, it's as if they're already here. Pestilence; think of all the fun diseases we have had recently, SARS, West Nile, etc. Famine; I don't know exactly about you guys, by Colorado is suffering from a hell of a drought. Your punished for watering your lawn on the wrong day. War; self-explanatory. Death; the result of the last three. Coincidence? I guess we'll see in time.

As far as I know, Pestilence, Famine, War, and Death have been our next-door neighbors for as long as humankind could pick up a chisel and record history. It really is nothing new; it just shows how totally unimaginative people are when thinking up end of the world theories.

In Terry Pratchett/Neil Gaimen's book, Good Omens, the four bikers of the apocalypse are War (who is a women, by the by), Famine, Pollution, and Death.

As said... Death, war, pesitilance, and famine have been up our buts since we became a "civilized" people. But mainly... the reason that they seem so horribly now is because there are so many of us now... so these things happen in a grander scale. Just remember: Life sucks in general... but that doesn't mean that the world is going to end. Does anyone here play Mageknight?? That 4 horseman deal rocked.. I got war...geese..invulne rability from click 1... and 4 ranged attacks...owwie..
