Ok for one i'm sure that everyne here knows my stand point on weres(at least those who have read my do you take it seriously thread), I have or had is more the word, a friend who is a hard core morman. The other day he came down to the libray when I was typing my thread that is mentioned above, he didn't say anything untill I was walking home.
As we were walking he startd asking me about my faith in god, I told him and he then asked my if I was sure what I told him was true, I asked him what he ment. He told me that he thinks I am a SATANIST :banghead: and that my belief in weres is an afront to god, opon telling me this he desided to go on a long ass rant about how I should repent and god almighty might save my soul. Has anyone else ever had anything likethis happen to them???

Well no that has never happened to me. I have never been verbally assaulted in a religious manner for my belief in weres. Of course I don't know that I believe in them just rather hold out for the possibility that they exist. But, there have been many times that I have been accused of being a Satanist because of my beliefs or disbeliefs. Perhaps you don't have that great of a friend because if he was a true friend he would accept that you have different beliefs. If someone gets it into their head that you are a Satanist and refuse to listen to reason then there is nothing you can do. However, ask your "friend" how he would feel if you were a buddhist, a jew, or islamic. If he would accept you for believing in one of those religions then tell him to shut his pie hole. You can also tell him to hush because he is being a hypocrite and a judge of you and doing so he violates one of his god's creed. God has told his children that he is the only one who is to cast judgement on man and no other. Judge not lest ye be judged yourself, ok true Metallica used that line but it really is true and variations of such can be found all over the Bible. (maybe he needs to read it)

You can also mention that you were born with free will and that you are capable of making the decision that you feel is right for you. You can also point out that you don't bitch and rant at him for being a stupid sheep of a christian (Sorry JLR no offense intended towards your faith but this kid sounds like a typical sheep) and demanding that everyone be like him and worship the same god and all that other bullshit that fanatical stupid christians feel the need to shove down other people's throats.

And for the icing on the cake you can always say that his actions have hurt your feelings and you are insulted and feel that he has acted in a very un-mormonish way because he has judged you, condemned you, and tried to enforce his will upon you and that if he is an example of who and what his religion is like you shall choose a more accepting and understanding religion that makes you feel good about yourself.

Oh and Neo one side note, the inverted pentagram has nothing to do with insulting jews. A Pentacle or Pentagram is a common object used by pagans of all kinds to symbolize the 4 directions of the earth and the self, as well as the elements. When inverted the symbol takes on a rather Ram's head symbolism with the point down being the nose and the two points on top symbolizing the horns. This is usually considered a symbol of Satan since the Ram's head is a Satanic tool or icon. I think most of this was born of Hollywood movies and satanist hysteria.

And thanks for the advice, the thing that gets me though is that I have known him for 2 years and he never actied like that before, another thing that gets me is that I have about 40-60 book,diarys,stories, pictures, and various things involving weres and he never said anything about that stuff before, so why does he stat ranting now, mabye its because I am moving to sweden. oh well.

Again thanks for the advice and I will do that. And as for my collection he has know about it since almost the first day I met him because one of his first questions was "Whats with all the werewolf stuff?" I told him it was one of my more intense intrests.

When I am assaulted with religion, I just point (at the assaulters) and laugh. Then I tell them that I am a <insert religion that is most offesnive to target audience>.

Basically, I beleive that it doesn't matter what faith you have, just so long as you have faith. (thank you dogma). All the major religions are the same to me... They all have similar enough teachings that the messages are all close enough to be the same to me. And they all have the "Im right-Your wrong-Im holier than thou" attitude.

Dont let anyone tell you what to believe, just believe what is in your heart. Its going to be different for each and every person. :)

That couldn't have been better said. Attending a private Christian School, and not being Christian, I've learned alot on the subject. What I thought was completely ironic was that I had the highest score in bible class than any other student, and I was the only "non-believer." What I notice many times again is the inconsistencies they preach. Whenever pointing these out, however, they merely reply "you must have faith." More to the point, what better way to argue against religion than to know it like the back of your hand?

You know, I am an Independent Fundamental Baptist, and I like to write about werewolves and draw them. And because of that, I've had people think that I was a Satanist. My family, despite the huge Gospel Baptist Church sign sitting in our pasture, and the small white church sitting at the back, for some time got accused of demon worship, for the mere fact that we A. As a Christian I know, that there are a lot of "Christians" out there that act like they are here to save the world. While I believe in witnessing, I also firmly believe that I as a Christian should practice what I preach, and thus respect other people and their beliefs, no matter how bizzare they may seem.

Nobody likes for somebody to rant at them, nor scream HELL and DAMNATION into their ears. Even if I believe that it is true, I know that you are never going to gain understanding that way. You'll gain a swift kick in the grion, more or less.

As for liking werewolves. You know 90% of the bad stuff we hear about them or have read, was started by crooked men who wanted to control people, by twisting events to scare people into following them. Scare tactics none the less. So who knows, werewolves could be wonderful creatures.

I know wolves are wonderful, as well as beautiful. Too me, why would God wish to destroy an innocent animal, that He made so beautiful? No, stupid people and stupid convictions, placed on the wrong things, turned such wonderful creatures into monsters.

I'm the only person in my family who wears a cross, even though most of us are supposedly religious. I also am probably the only one who strongly believes in the existance of demons.
