So... I finally worked up the courage to tell two very close friends of mine that for a number of years, I've had constant dreams about becoming a wolf. Not that I was a were, but at least as much that I felt a very strong connection to wolves, and that I had seen wolfen spirits in dreams. It went fairly well, and they don't think I'm insane. This was while we were on a road trip, at three AM, in a Denny's.
So later that day, when night came down, I fell asleep in the car. I dreampt, of course, of becoming a wolf and of running through the fields and forests where we were. I woke up maybe an hour later to hear the driver laughing. WHen he saw my eyes, he leaned over the wheel and intoned "The Beast awakes...!"
They told me that I had been howling and growling in my sleep for about twenty minutes. WHimpering and snarling and huffing and growling and all that stuff. They thought it was pretty funny, until later in the trip the same driver held up his hands and, with a sniff, remarked that they smelled very clean for some reason, and he didn't know why.
From the backseat, Grim sniffed. I lifted my nose into the air and wrinkled it back, and exposed the front of my teeth as I sniffed. "It's hand soap," said Grim. "You've got dried soap on your wrist. (sniff) It's the same kind we use at work. It's pink."
They were pretty freaked out. Show's them!
