Usually searching for folklore and myths sends me hoofing it to the library sifting through the stacks to find what I want, although the recent shift to an online database makes it much easier to find the books I want faster.
But I notice that some of you don't know what a Library is let alone how to navigate one. So while I was researching some stuff on the web I actually found a site that might make it a bit easier for you to check facts before you go posting about the existence of creatures and the lineage of gods and goddesses.
This site is easy to explore by continent, area, creatures, and heros. They even have a Genealogy table of gods and goddesses. And they rotate items on specific topic. For instance at the moment they have the full text of the book "Witchcraft" by Ilil Arbel, Ph.D. available online.
Anyway I found this site extremely informative and accurate and the sources to be valid.

Thanks for the heads up. It was sadly lacking in what I was looking for, though. ::off werewolf topic:: Why does nobody have anything much on Banba? I was doing some corroberative research on Wintu werestories (yea, I made a word up just now. I needed one) that my grandmother used to tell me. Sadly, all I can find is stories of ..uh... the valley Natives Americans ... not the mountain people. Hey, I didn't make up any words in that sentence! I have found some good, intellegent, schooled help from Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werewolf) (link is to thier werewolf page). I think it is quite thorough compared to some out there. The beliefs expressed are mainstream scentific but it does include much documented lore.

Banba
Banba was one of three queens of the Tuatha Dé Danann, the obscure people who ruled Ireland before the Celts arrived. The queens were sisters and their names were Banba, Fotla and Éire. They represent the spirit of Ireland. The three sisters met the Milesians, a presumed Celtic tribe, on their arrival in Ireland. Each of them asked that her name be given to the country. It is the name of Éire from which Ireland takes its modern name. The names Banba, Fotla and Éire are synonyms for Ireland in Irish literature and poetry.
Is that the Banba you are referring to?
And which tribe legends are you wanting to know about? Which area, what legend are you trying to verify or research? I need more than a made up name to research.
That's a great site. I did a simple search for Hades and it brought up 53 different stories about him. That deserves some rep points. ;)

I've found an interesting site. You can find Sabine Baring - Gould's "The Book of Werewolves" there. You have probably visited the place, but I think there are many who would rather read the original classic book than a "zipped" and chopped ;) text from many sites relating to werewolves etc. The book is quite interesting. I really recommend it

I don't know if anyone might find this to be helpful, but if perhaps you are into alchemy, this site is the most accredited on the subject. The site's owner/creator is Adam McLean, who is quite well know as a scholar in the subject.

The History and Psychology of Werewolf Killers
The Crime Library has this article on the phenomenon along with aspects of the mythology. It's well done.

A lot of good links and such. I still prefer if available to go and sit down with an actual book. And yes the introduction and wide use of the electronic library has helped a lot in not only the search for books of werewolf subject and such but for all book and media searches. Horary for the internet and all of its good aspects.
Yay full moon tomorrow!
