I need help on finding some ways my animal spirit guides, snake, goat, dragonfly, skunk, and Chimera, were represented in Native American History.

Meaning does anybody have some links about stories of these spirit guides (shamen wise)? Just if you know one off the top of your head, it'd be appretiacted

Which tribes are you looking for? You might want to ask Kishi, he's native american somewhere in his bloodlines but I don't know if he knows stories.

Dakotan, Kishi that is. I know a little of hopi and South American Indian tribes. Specifically Mayan.

As others have said, your tribe makes a big difference. Something could have one meaning in one tribe, and a completely different meaning in another. I know some of the eastern tribes. I am Iroquois/Algonquin, and my father grew up on an Ojibway reservation. I'm not sure how American Indian tribes would have thought much of anything about Chimera, as it is a Greek mythical creature. There are also differences in types. What type of ovicaprid were you talking about? The common domestic type arrived in the Americas with the European immigrants. You should probably ask your tribal elders, they would know better than any of us. You should have had your visions interpreted by your medicine-man/shaman/learned elder after your vision quest. Even the same animal in the same tribe meanings may vary slightly for different people. It is a personal thing. There is also the matter of the whole gestalt of your spirit animals. Their traits are all part of you, what does it mean when you take into account all of those traits? There are plenty of story books out there with legends involving animals. Check your local library, you might have to request an interlibrary loan.
