RINOs, Republican In Name Only. How many of you are unfortuneate enough to have one locally involved in your town/state/congress? Some famous RINOs are: Pa's own Arlen Specter, NY's Bloomberg, (and I know Im gonna catch hell from Kat for this, but..) John McCain (He is owned by Andrew McKelvey, an anti-gun extremist) and the most famous of all, the Govener of Cali-fornia, Arnold Schwartzenegger (sp?). These are people that run as moderates, but usually go with the liberals on most things (This is especially true with Specter. Thats why I voted for Pat Toomey.) such as gay marrige, guns and gun control, taxes, et cetera ad nausium. Here in PA, Specter called in some favors and got Mr. Bush and Mr. Santorum to help him with endorsements. They saw that he was a RINO and said so in their endorsements, if you listened. They only helped him to keep a numerical majority. Mr. Bush said, "He is an independant voice for Pennsylvania.." Gee, I thought I was voting for a Republican, not an independant. And Rick Santorum said "He votes with us on the votes that matter." Yep, and he votes against you every other chance he gets. As most know, he just barely squeeked out a victory over Toomey by posing (badly) as a conservitive, then immediately, in less than 24 hours, cuddled back up with his buddies on the looney left. I can personally garantee that he is GONE next round!

Anywhoo, who else can YOU add to the RINO list???

I can add myself. I'm registered as a Republican, but only to vote in primaries. I'm actually a libertarian.

It seems that over the years, most especially recent years, Democrats and RePublicans have switched places. The Democrats have become the physical conservatives, balancing budgets and carefully managing social programs, while RePublicans have been on the attack & spend campaigns, managing budgets like pimple-faced teenagers with no responsibility.

But Democrats still seem to be the better-trained Diplomat when it comes to foreign-relations.

Yes, the 'huge' deficit :: coughcough ::. Don't make me go and adjust for inflation. ::mutter stupidmediacan'tgetn umbersright mutter::

There are actually a good many democrats who vote with the GOP a good percentage of the time, too, just to tell you. If you actually care, read Moore's 'Stupid White Men'. It's one of the few facts he gets right.

There are just some places where you can't win as a Democrat and those you can't win as a Republican.

As to the rest, Kat, meh.

Interestingly enough, I picked that up at the library yesterday evening along with Dude, Where's My Country?

I trust you meant "fiscal" conservatives... ;)

And the party out of power is usually fiscally conservative, in an attempt to keep money away from programs the majority party wants.

It's a fun read, as long as you look at it as a comedy or a series of short fiction.
