If you've got a TV handy you might want to tune into C-Span at 1 (after they stop grilling Gonzales). Something that hasn't happened since 1969 is apparently about to take place: a challenging of the electoral vote, signed by at least one Rep (John Conyers, the guy from the Judiciary Comm who's been investigating the fraud and disenfranchisement in Ohio) and at least one Senator (C-Span reported that Barbara Boxer signed on, though there's supposed to be a few more).
This, if you're not familiar with it, is the opening scene in Fahrenheit 9/11--when the Black Caucus tried to challenge the shit that happened in Florida but no Senator would stand with them.
"I don't care that it is not signed by a senator." -- Rep. Maxine Waters.
"The chair would advise that the rules do care." -- Al Gore
As I understand the rules, once the challenge is made each house will have a 2-hour debate, with no one allowed to speak for more than 5 minutes or more than once. Good watchings.
Just a heads up.
