I was going to sleep a couple nights ago (as usual). I had my mind on astral projection alot recently. Well, after a while, I couldn't tell if i dreamed that i left my body or if it was real. I have reason to believe it was a dream because I remember leaving my house and ending up in some desert looking place with spaceships flying around. Any ideas on what happened?

Probably a dream. You'll be surprised at how vivid dreams can be, in some you can actually feel objects and pain as if you were there.

true, but then again, what if dreams were reality and reality your.. well i should say nightmares :D But then again i would then CLEARLY state that reality IS a nightmare
in any event is that you have many plans for the world and all of them will be succesful, if you seea picture or spectre of your astral projection you'll have brings heart-trending tribulation... Ok i know it sounds like i'm Miss Cleo here, but that's just what i'm reading off the book ok :p "10,000 Dreams Interpeted or What's in a Dream?" by Gustavus Hindman Miller

Now...I have decided to make my very first thread...I finally found a subject..Anyway..I am not sure if this is the right place to put it, or if I even should be disscussed here..Anyway feel free to move or delete it, whoever might find it useless in this area..
Resently I have been trying to Astral project a lot, but just can't do it. I know what to do and what not to do, I have done a lot of reaserch, but still I can't seem to guess what might could be ther problem. I might have an idea to what could be ther problem that I cannot concentrate enough on what I want to do..Anyway I have been trying for quite a long time and with some breaks as well, but it doesn't seem to work, it is by the way the only spiritual stuff I have been doing for a while beside working with psi..But that doesn't require that much concentration..Well I also heard that you have to be aleast at a certain age (which I do not remember) if you want to be able to it, but is this true, or is it just something the unexperienced have made up? Any surgestion or helt to what I might could do or if you want to point me in the right direction, I would be happy.

A wee bit of both, more than real cases of astral projection have been made up. Really I can't suggest anything to you because I myself am a skeptic on the subject. Look around the boards for awhile there have been other posts on this subject. Maybe I'll even look some up for you.

Meditation. It's really the key point to it all.
Basically astral projection is where you're able to leave your body in "spirit" but still able to maintain your physical being. Sounds impossible? I can tell you just about everyone on earth has done it at least once. Ya know the feeling you get when you're sleeping, and it feels like you're falling, then you wake up? Astral projection, and one of the reasons you wake up is because your body isn't used to it, and don't know how to handle the situation correctly. Yoga is a good form of meditation, and I'm sure if you search the web, they give you some good control tips, breathing and the whole shananagan.

They have a whole section on astral projection and I found it helpful. Hope it helps. :)

If somebody told you that you must be a certain age to be able to do it then they are wrong. My friend and I have been doing it for a good many years now and we are still quite young (she is 18 and I am 20). But it just comes easier to certain people. We have been open since childhood. Maybe you are trying to hard, some things cannot be forced. Try beginning in a meditative state, then make the attempt to astral project. Do not try to project far, the shorter the distance the easier it is. If you can't get it don't get frusterated, you will get it eventually. I hope I have been helpful. Blessed Be.

Yep. I feel objects, and pain. Sometimes, even though I KNOW its a dream, I still wince in pain if I'm about to, or am do something painful.. like this one time I was taking apart a mirror in the bathroom to get thru the wall. Because wall are blocking.. and there was no reason to go through an open window or door. *shrug* And I broke the mirror and then started taking pieces off and got cut up pretty bad.. it hurt. but I think I was more focused on getting out of the house.. or something.

I have read that there are dangers involved with astral projection. What are they? Do they actually hurt your physical body?Just curious I cant astral project but am tryin.

Dangers are usually telephone wires, tornados, airplanes, ect...
The theroy about astral projection is that your 'soul' leaves your body but is yet attached to it by a thin thread that if severed, could leave you dead. Or so that's what I was told when I started doing it.

I tried to astral project last night but something weird happened. I woke 2 hours later in the ditch in front of my house.
That water is cold as hell! Did I fall asleep and sleepwalk or just walk tryin to astral project? I remember all I did when I was tryin to project and I tried to project to my yard. Why did this happen?

I'm going to say you were sleepwalking.
Check out Astral Projection by Ted Andrews for some hints on this subject.

Hello, I'm very interested in what people on this forum can do, I'm a little of a dream wanderer and I wonder if there is more people like me here? I dont think I need to explain more because if You are a dream wanderer you know what I mean.

What do you mean by 'Dream Wanderer'? I'm thinking along the lines of astral surfing, or lucid dreams. Please explain and maybe we can help you out in what you're searching for.

Do you mean dreamleaping? or Lucid-dreaming and astral traveling?
I've actually wondered if anyone has ever dreamleaped. Like if you had have a dream about someone, you ever wonder if they could've had the same dream but just aren't telling you? Well, because lately I've been having dreams, a few at places I've never been to, with people I've seen around school in it but who I've never really talked to. But have been in the same lunch room and hallway together... And this has happened atleast a couple times before, like I'll be interacting with them in the dream, and show my dream-vampiric side and stuff. Because, you know, who cares right.. its a dream (or so it seems ><) and then that day at school there are like looking at me more or something noticable. The subject of dreamleaping has come up in my mind before... But I'm not sure.

Lucid dreaming has nothing to do with astral travel, dream-links, astral anything, or anything except a lucid dream. "Lucid dreams" are dreams which are lucid: meaning it is of clear clarity and highly descriptive usually associated with dreams with sensory perception - as in you have full use of senses in the dream: you can feel things, smell things, etc. Generally these sensations are recalled from memory which is why I prefer to call it "sensory recall".

what I meant was people able to controle dreams and move around in the dreams and make things after your will. And people who knows how to use the dreams to get visions and stuff like that, I can sometimes do that all when I prepare myself right.

I believe that would still fall under Lucid dreaming (correct me if I'm wrong DW). Those interested can find more on Lucid Dreaming HERE. (http://www.werewolf.com/vb/showthread.php?t=332 5)

My friend told me that I often "appear" in her dreams at night, fully aware that she is dreaming. I inform her that she is, and we go on with whatever she was thinking about. Then out of no where I'll tell her to wake up, and she will. Don't know if that implies I can wander, so maybe you can help me with that.

That's really interesting. I can sort of relate to what you're saying because in some of my dreams I can kind of control what is going on. It's not as much control as what everyone described in the other thread though. It's like I suspect I might be dreaming rather than conciously know...or something I guess.

I was wondering if any of you feel a tingling sensation all over your body when you project, kind of like when your foot falls asleep, only all over? I always feel that when I have a projection. ?????????
DoubleStar3

It's common. Course it's also common for it to happen during meditation as well. Depends on the person I suppose.

Ok, I really though I was a weirdo or something. I would tell my friends and family about what was happening and they just give me a funny look. Then I was watching Sylvia Brown on Montel yesterday and a lady was talkin about it, so I looked around on the web, found this forum...it's nice to know I'm not alone. It usuallly only happens to me accidentaly, and would really freak me out, so I would try waking myself up, because I don't like the vibration feeling, I will usuallly wake up and fall right back into it. But now that I know I can control this maybe I will try to have fun with it. Any pointers?

All right, when you astral project you CAN hurt yourself, trust me on that one. I've found that the easiest way for me to astral project is (don't laugh) to hurt myself or knock myself out. I know it sounds weird, but once I'm unconcious, it's like my body dies and my spirit can roam free. The last time I did it, though, I ended upo with cuts all over my body when I came to. Just thought it might bennice to give you a little bit of a warning. But I have to say, despite all the dangers involved in it, I'd have to say that there is no better way to have fun :D

I'm still new to astral projecting but what happens when you have stopped astral projecting and just before you stop and as your stopping an "animal"(werewolf looking)cuts you and even as your still awake the cut gets deeper and longer and you feel the thing on top of you?(this really happend to me when I was 13 years old) Please any ideas or information on this would be extremly helpful.I still see this thing whenever I go astral and I seem to be pulled to wherever it is . it's like this thing chooses whether i'm allowed to go where I want!!!!!!!!

It could be that the animal you see is either your totem animal, or some opposing force. When ever it tries to stop you from going somewhere, try to force it to leave and go where you want it to. If oyu can manage that, then you should be able to project safely whenever you want to. If you can't, then you may want o try dreamwalking instead. Much safer, just harder to do.
