However, from what I saw of the game's, I'm going to have to say the Eagles will take it.

The Patriots are going to the Superbowl for what, the third time in a row? The Eagles havn't been to the Superbowl in 24 years. And they lost.

Reformer56

I'm thinking the Patriots are going to run away with a third superbowl in four years. Mainly because of their team chemistry. It's a common fact teams with good chemistry tend to win. We see that here with the Patriots. Not so much with the Eagles, they broguth in T.O. and theres no way he could fit in with the Eagles and their chemistry in just one season.

Lord Anubis
01-25-2005, 09:39 PM
I have to dissagree on the team chemistry, Philly has had that, even more so with T.O. They have been through alot. Look j. Trotter came back at the league min. just for another shot to play with them. where he could have gotten more cash for a lesser team.

Reformer56
01-25-2005, 09:41 PM
I don't know, it just seems that the Patriots are more close, thats probably a media sqew but nonetheless it will be a great game I'm eager to see if T.O. will return he still has to pass the doctors and Andy Reid last I heard...

If Owens plays, he is not going to be nearly as good as he was before. The guy needs time to heal, and I just hope he doesn't get himself hurt.

Buddha Monkey
01-26-2005, 12:01 PM
Heard on the radio that Owens is not getting the all clear to play in the Super Bowl.

Lord Anubis
01-26-2005, 03:27 PM
The DR that won't give T.O. the all clear to play is just covering his ass so if T.O. gets hurt he is not liable. Decision is up to Andy Reid and the team DR's. Even if he is not 100% he will still demand attention which opens it up for others.

Reformer56
01-26-2005, 05:49 PM
By the way T.O. is being mentioned its making it sound as if the Eagles hinges on weather T.O. will come back or not. Don't forget that the Eagles have had a solid running game aswell. Look for the Eagles to stay on their gameplan even if it doesn't work well early.

Based on what? Ben finally played like a rookie, whos to say it's not the beginnning of a streak :D Not that I would want that, it's high time the Steelers started dominating but as we all know most teams who are good for one year suck the next year due to salary issues etc. The Patriots seem to be imune to this however...

I heard the other day that there are rumors that TO is doing all he can to get the doctors to clear him. The coaches want him back really bad, hence the quote: "We're asking him to play one game, not an entire season."

I hope he gets to play. It's not every season that your team makes it to the Super Bowl. I'd, for one, be PISSED if I'd played the whole season to sit out when it really counted. It makes me mad thinking about it!

The doctor is not gonna clear him to play.

TO's not fit to play, he most prob will go out & do some stupid shit against the Docs orders.

But if i was Andy Reid i wouldnt allow it, the guy broke hs ankle, if he goes out & plays & fucks it up more than it is...hes gonna risk it.

The doctor will let everyone know hes not clearing him to play to avoid any attempts @ a malpractice suit.

They are rushing it, typically he would have had a season ending injury/surgery. The Eagles run a risk of ending his career if they let him play in the Super Bowl.

Lord Anubis
01-30-2005, 06:25 AM
They still plan on using Mitchell and Pinston as their starting top two recievers. If Ownens plays he would be the number three.

Reformer56
01-30-2005, 11:46 AM
Todd Pinkston, in my opinion was probably the Eagles most underated player in the regular season. If he hadn't been there running the deep routes there would have been no way for T.O. to be open all the time running the inside post.

Lord Anubis
01-30-2005, 08:56 PM
I agree. They worked well for one another. bBecause Pinkston would not of had single coverage without T.O. getting all the attention. As it was with Westbrook getting doubled and letting the wideouts get off the line.

I'm an Eagles fan, but I still think Pinkston plays like a little girl.

Pinkston does not like contact period. Good thing he is fast....lol

Reformer56
01-31-2005, 06:33 PM
Exactly which is why the Eagles use him as a distraction because all he does, when T.O. is around. Is run a skinny to deep "9" route so that leaves T.O. open down the middle. Becuase not even some of the best secondaries in the NFC can account for the safeties having to move to cover both T.O. and Pinkston because that will just leave Mitchell open on the other side.

Lord Anubis
01-31-2005, 06:40 PM
Then you throw Westbrook into the mix.........

Reformer56
01-31-2005, 06:43 PM
I like Westbrook a lot and I'm eager to see who the Pats can match him up against but if I'm not mistaken the Eagles like to use him on short "5's" and "4's" right?

Lord Anubis
01-31-2005, 06:46 PM
Mostly. But they also run him on outs on occasion. LJ Smith like to hit it deep as well. This is why i want T.O. back, not just for his production but the chaos he makes for defenses.

Reformer56
01-31-2005, 06:58 PM
If T.O. is back and at 100% I have no doubt that this superbowl could be one for the ages.

Lord Anubis
01-31-2005, 07:05 PM
Prolly not at a 100%,,but even a T.O. at lets say 80% is better than 75% of most wideouts.

Reformer56
01-31-2005, 07:11 PM
Point taken, I'm eager to see the Super Bowl with or without T.O. though. I'd like to think the Eagle's victory doesn't hinge on him.

01-31-2005, 08:33 PM

Reformer56

Westbrook runs all kinds of different routs, depending on where he's lined up. Watch for the Eagles to screw with the NE defense by lining him up frequently as a wideout. If the Patriots have to put their inexperienced corners on him, they could be screwed.

Reformer56
02-01-2005, 12:08 AM
The Patriots are full of inexpierenced corners. Ty Law is their main corner and if T.O. is back Ty Law will have his hands full its not their corners I'm worried about though McNabb has a knack at making safeties go where he wants. Look to see him pick apart the Pat's seconadry like that.

Yeah Ty Law was hurt but it wasn't going to keep him out of the Super Bowl, the Patriots need him or else their entire secondary hangs on their safties and I mean they are good but they are Brian Dawkins.

Nobody in the game today is a Brian Dawkins. He's the Ronnie Lott of this generation.

This from a former safety. ;)

Reformer56
02-01-2005, 11:51 PM
EDIT to previous post: I meant they aren't Brian Dawkins. I'm off today...

I know they aren't that's why I'm saying the Patriots defense will have their hands full trying to play a straight cover2 with an occansional pull. The safeties might have to double up on ohh say...T.O. This will cause mayhem for the Patriots because they haven't had to do this all season not since probably when they played the Colts in the regular season. And the Colts don't have anything near in comparison to the Eagle's passing attack. I'm eager to see what the Patriot's defense will looks like.

Lord Anubis
02-02-2005, 02:52 PM
I love my eagles but to say Philly's passing attack is superior to Indy's after the yrads/td's they put up...might be a stretch.

I have the upmost confidence in Philly in this game. They were 13-1 before they rested their starters. People seem to forget this.

Reformer56
02-04-2005, 10:37 PM
Nobody has forgotten that, but something many people tend to overlook is that this same basic Patriot team has been to the Super Bowl 3 times. So there's not so much of the nerves or pre game gitters that carry on into the first quarter. And there's certainly no intimidation factor.

Lord Anubis
02-05-2005, 12:06 PM
