I like to remove things from their package in order to better see what it is and in this manner of removal, I had this thought today. At first, it may seem like a no brainer but it seems that on its own, it might be intriguing. The thought is, if something complex is politicized, then it becomes more polarized and understood by the masses in an emotional way. For instance, the environment. That is a pretty big topic to handle, however if it becomes political, then one doesn't need to really address the minutia of the topic but relegate it to a political stance and it becomes instantly recognizable. My thoughts on this is that it doesn't do the topic justice to politicize it. It does get public sentiment, but its mostly out of context due to the political method of putting a spin on the topic for party affiliations and furtherance. A question I have though is that if there is an outpouring public sentiment, then does it matter that its of a politicized status or understanding?

I would have to say it depends on the topic. Some topics should be politicized (such as relations with other goverments), others should stay out of the political arena, period.
My choice of who I love being the main one. I may be straight, but I have many homosexual and bisexual friends. It's not my lifestyle, but I'm not going to want a law saying that it's the wrong one. (reminds all that this topic is not about homosexuality, it was a good example, nothing more).
However, down through the ages, every topic has been used politcally. I don't see that ending soon. When two people discuss something, and come to an understanding on what is to be done, they have just played politics. I hate it, but it happens.

Religion is another example of something that should stay out. In Europe is an abomination to talk about religion in government but it seems to be a recurring theme over and over again in United States' politics.
